I will be 18 months post GBS next month!

Hi everyone !

Has anyone had an abdominal panniculectomy after WLS? I scheduled mine for December but wondering what recovery looks like and how it compares to the pain/recovery from Gastric Bypass Surgery. Any thoughts/input would be appreciated! Thanks, Sarah

Hey guys, So I haven't posted in a while, and have been doing okay for the most part, aside from frustration. I had GBS on 4/10/18, since week three post surgery I have been vomiting fairly regularly. At least once every other day. So, I called my surgeons office several times since it has continued. The first time, maybe I wasn't digesting and should go back to liquid diet. Then it was maybe I'm eating too quickly, or not chewing enough. Then, maybe I just can't digest meat yet? I have tried everything, I am not eating a whole lot, nor am I keeping alot down. So, I FINALLY had my 6 week follow up with my surgeon yesterday. I am down 50 pounds!!!! So happy!!!! But now due to the consistent vomiting, they want to run some tests. An Upper GI to make sure my stricture isn't narrowing, because that could be a reason for the vomiting, and a gallbladder UltraSound, because it could be gallstones/ my gallbladder not working effectively. If its the stricture, all they have to do is dilate through an endoscopy. But if it is the gallbladder, I will of course need it removed. Anyway, wondering if anyone else has had any problems like this? Or any experiences with vomiting consistently? Any thoughts or words of wisdom are always appreciated!!! Thanks! SaRose

Hi! So I had surgery on the tenth and sleep was a huge issue for me. I would fall asleep in bed or on the couch for an hour, maybe two. But then it's 1AM and I'm wide awake! Some of the suggestions I got were to sleep on a recliner. To be honest that didn't help me. Last night was the first night I woke up once through the night and fell back to sleep quickly. Unfortunately I think it just takes time. Congrats on how well you're doing and I wish you a speedy recovery!

Oh yes!!! These commercials on TV don't make temptation any better either!!! How are you feeling?!

Hi all! I just had my Gastric Bypass on 4/10/18. I was out of the hospital by 4/11 and have been having trouble getting a full night's sleep. At this point I don't even nap during the day, and I'm still up half the night. Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips on how to get through this? Hoping it doesn't last much longer!!! I had surgery on April 10th as well. I have had several bowel movements since then, but haven't been taken pain killers other than Tylenol. I know that opioids can delay bowel movements so that might be why? Hope that helps! Wishing everyone a speedy recovery

I had surgery on 4/10 and am almost done with the full liquid diet, which after fourteen days of preop prior it's been rough, as I'm sure many know! Does anyone have some good flavorful suggestions for the 2 weeks of blended/pureed diet? Really looking forward to blended scrambled eggs!!! What has worked for others? And is it really weeks 2-3? Do you feel it goes by quickly?

Hi! I am currently on blood thinners as my surgery was this week 4/10. Instead of the typical 10 day cycle, my doctor put me on 14 days and a higher dose as I have a family history of blood clots. I'm not sure why they are injections as opposed to pills, so sorry I can't answer that one. Good luck on your recovery!!!
