You guys I’m sooo excited! For so so long I’ve been thinking of doing this, reading this board, watching Weightloss shows and YouTube videos and finally I’m here posting my surgery date. With my luck I’m probably only dreaming and I’ll wake up at 7 am which is what my alarm is set to [emoji30][emoji30][emoji30] this is so surreal. I was so afraid of having to wait weeks and weeks and having this big build up to surgery day. I start my liquid diet tomorrow and honestly I do not feel like I needed more time to stuff my face although I will go out to dinner later and have a juicy steak [emoji51] and a few drinks. I’m so excited and ready for this. I have to add that my surgeon did something I didn’t like- he tried putting doubt into my decision to go with a bypass and really challenged me as to why I want it and why I don’t want the sleeve. Doc because I don’t want the slightest possibility of GERD and because I would like to lose the most amount of weight in the shortest amount of time and have higher odds of keeping it off without requiring a DS. I feel that this is my one and only shot at getting a grip on my life and my health and I can’t afford (nor will insurance) to gradually go from procedure A to B if needed when I can cut the crap and get to business. This is going to sound weird and silly but I haven’t had anything to eat yet. My stomach hasn’t felt like it’s killing me and I’m kinda scared of having a shake and getting that feeling again of I need more and desperately wanting food. kinda like.. let me just leave my stomach alone while it’s not bothering me. Day 4 and I feel good.. didn’t think I’ll be saying this but there’s nothing I care to eat. I’m fine as long as my stomach doesn’t have that burning hunger sting. Who would have thought. Today from 5-7PM around the time I eat dinner I started to freak out. My chest felt heavy, my blood pressure felt low and I got a hunger attack. I felt so sick and so nauseous! Also for a split sec I forget I’m not allowed to eat and I think of what I’m going to eat because I’m hungry and then it hits me that I won’t be eating. I hate feeling like this so out of control. Idk how everyone else is making it through this all liquid diet while still having your hunger and desire to eat but for me it’s kicking my a$$! I can’t imagine how the ones who work and are doing the pre op diet can do it and I admire and respect you because I don’t think I could! [emoji30][emoji24] Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

If the center for Weightloss you are being treated at takes your insurance then the team working with you knows exactly what they require and will not make you go through any hoop you don’t need to go though. 9 out of 10 times they already had patients with that same insurance and they are not new to this, just trust the process. Besides the people who speak to patients and speak to office from the doctors are completely different. Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

So it’s 9:00PM (at least here in New York City) and I’m due for my 5th and last protein shake since I drink them at 9am 12pm 3pm 6pm and 9pm to perfectly space them apart just long enough to not bite my arm off but when 9pm hit just now I was like blah why even bother drinking the shake, I’m not going to feel any different than I do now and it will just wake up my stomach and it’ll just leave me craving more food. Wow awesome news.. when I first read the post I thought I’ll just read through it as I didn’t feel like anything I said could relieve or make you feel better but then I see the good news. Can you elaborate some more and tell us the process. Did your doc finally come around? Did you see a different one did they change their mind? Are you back on your dads insurance? I really enjoy reading all the post and the positive reinforcement. The story about the pepperoni was hilarious. I’d lick a few things myself but I threw everything out and all I have is protein shakes in the fridge. I even made sure to have zero cash on me so I couldn’t order anything from the restaurants. Thanks for all the water substitute ideas deff going to look into that and find something I like enough to sip on all day and fill up on. The mental hunger is very real. I fill myself up with 20oz of water and a shake and I may be up to the top volume wise but in reality I’m still hungry, I’m hungry for food for the taste the flavor the texture the satiety it gives me. I just have to tell myself “you know you are not starving”. it also makes me feel awful to think how there are so many people in other countries who are truly starving and don’t even have these protein shakes they only eat one meal if they’re lucky (like Venezuela) and here I am whining so much [emoji30] Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

Definitely.. I think they enable each other. idk how this will play out because they are not trying to lose 100+ pounds and walk away from all the help suggesting they do so but I know damn well doctor now is not doing surgery for someone who is 800lbs especially if they don’t prove themselves with great weightloss and self control 1st. I’m glad to see here that others are in the same boat as me. Last night I went to bed feeling awful. I really thought to myself what’s wrong with me why am I so out of control why do I want to break this diet so bad and eat everything, everyone else does the diet why can’t I. But I’m reading here that everyone else also goes through all these feelings so we are no exception.. I’m wondering if I can have almonds lol [emoji30] I wish mine was 10 days even 13 days I need this to be over the sooner the better. Everyone keeps saying that after the 3rd day they feel better and I must admit that although today is only my 2nd day it’s deff been better than yesterday. Yest I just felt like the day was 80 hours long. Day couldn’t be over fast enough for me to sleep this hunger off but I can’t sleep when I’m hungry so I was up late hungry and with a headache.
