    Starting a new Journey

I have my endoscopy in about 20 minutes. My surgeon schedules this early on in the process but I’ve heard of some people getting theirs days before their surgery. What does your surgeon recommend?

    Starting a new Journey

I’ve met with my surgeon once and absolutely love him! I’ve completed a visit with the dietician and my psych evaluation. I have PCP appt 2 of 4 on Thursday and my endoscopy on Friday. After that it’s just 2 more PCP visits until I request approval from my insurance company. The wait is killer! Also, slowly changing my habits one thing at a time but not losing any pounds and it’s the most frustrating.

@Syrina just noticed you're from Louisiana too! I half blame La for part of my food addiction

You can mix almost any protein powder with water, they just generally taste better with milk. There's also an unflavored protein called Genepro that is used by tons of bariatric patients. I haven't tried it yet but it costs about the same as the Legion brand. The unflavored won't be any less expensive than the flavored but you are able to get more creative with it and get more bang for your buck.

Nothing cheap but nothing outrageous either. My favorite is Whey+ by Legion Athletics. You can only get it online but all of the flavors are great and the calories are low. They also have an unflavored powder that you can mix in soups/broth and yogurts!

This is exactly what I've been doing! I'v been "taste testing" protein powders and bars for weeks now so I'll have a good selection of ones I actually like once the time comes, but still have 3-4 months to go! I think the prepping keeps me distracted from the anxiety I have of possibly not getting approved by my insurance. Good luck ladies!
