You have to wait a long time at least half an hour after eating to drink. I would practice drinking waiting 20 mins and then eating. I still forget to drink first sometimes and then I eat and then I am thirsty for ages waiting to drink.

Iron infusion-amazing!!

I stalled really early - exercise has moved things for me but sloooooowly! Being more conscious of what I was drinking as well. Best wishes it’s not over yet!!

They told me it is a common problem I think it was at least a week before my sleep returned to normal. Put Netflix on and go with it!!!

I have lost 17 kgs in 6 months but 8 of it was during the pre surgery phase and then it slowed. But i am confident it is still happening and 30 - 40kgs overall I would be happy with. I was chubby until puberty when I grew quite tall quite quickly and probably would have been in a healthy range then I put on a lot of weight with my first pregnancy and it just stayed until now.

I had the same - I lived on Gatorade and diet cordial until I found a soup I could stomach - I couldn’t do water. Little sips little sips. They told me at the time - don’t worry about diet right now just don’t get dehydrated. Then I moved onto a brand of high protein yogurt and lived on that for awhile until I could do purée. It wasn’t until about a month maybe 5 weeks before I could do protein shakes and get my numbers ideal. It is a big adjustment for you and your stomach. Be kind to yourself, the first few weeks are the hardest but it gets so much better.

Hi I had surgery in October I have a sedentary job as well. I have lost weight but very slowly compared to others at the same time as me. I was initially very upset as my calorie intake was dramatically reduced from what it was. So I then paid for a metabolism test through a physio who said it was at the low end of normal but not anything really bad and basically I had to really start consistent exercise and I have to be careful about what I eat - particularly sugar - in saying that the op makes it easier to do that. I have just had to accept it is going to take a longer time than I had hoped for and more work than I expected. I hired a personal trainer to get my exercise going (which I felt guilty about) and now I love it. It is all still slow but I have little muscles and heaps more energy it was worth it. I also don’t live in fear of putting it all straight back on like a diet - if I lose it stays off. Best of luck to you.

Hi i was a similar start to you. A couple of things are you on an antacid? My nurse told me I shouldn’t feel hungry in the early stages and when I took an antacid it made my hunger feeling go away. Also when you start solids - like a piece of chicken or beef you will feel full for longer. My stall lasted about 6 weeks and then it started moving again with no drinks other than water and more exercise. At a lower starting weight my surgeon said it’s not over yet but you will lose slower than people with a higher start weight. You are doing well - all the best
