    amusement parks post-op

Interesting thought. I have always gotten car sick. I have noticed that I can read in the car now. I never thought that having a RNY would change that but maybe it did.

    Pre-Op Diet Adherence

Do you really think it’s a good idea to ask a bunch of strangers with no medical degree if it’s OK to go against your surgeon’s instructions? There’s a medical protocol for this surgery for a reason.
  3. Just focus on protein & fluid intake right now.
  4. Good question. I’m allergic to Gavilyte-G (just one of the prep solutions) so I had to drink something else. I can't remember what it was.

One way to slow your eating down is to put your utensils down between bits.

    Extremely rude nurse

Ohmyword. I’m so sorry you were treated so badly! She needs to be reported ASAP. This cannot be tolerated! My heart is aching for the emotional & physical pain you are in. What is wrong with people ?!?!?

    Nausea

Yes! I took meclazine for a few months after my RNY. I still take every now & then 11 months out.
  11. I took a lot of anti nausea & gasX the 1st 2 months post op. My daughter didn’t start feeling well until she could add eggs & soft foods after her surgery. Does your insurance have a nutritious you can speak with? We have Cigna & they called me every week for the 1st 2 months.

I need to talk about constipation post op

I was the same way! I was taking 2 laxatives, 2 stool softeners, eating 4 prunes, and using miralax everyday. My PCP told me to take 200-300mg of magnizium cirate a day for 4 days in the morning. If I needed more help I was to add another dose in the evening. Do that for 4 days. Add another does in the afternoon if I needed to. I take it 3 times a day now & I have a movement every morning now when I wake up. They aren’t always little rabbit turds either 🤣 anymore. It was painful getting to the 3 doses a day but it has helped me so much. I still need to do an enema about once a week just to clean it all out. I have been consipated for for most of my life, the surgery & the eating of small amounts of food at a time just made it all worse!
  15. Focus on Protien right now.

    Eating & Drinking

Yes! Sometimes after I eat I just need to get the taste of the food out of my mouth so I will take a small sip and swish it around. Servers just look at me funny when I don’t want anything to drink. I just Ask for water to make them feel better.

What kind of blender for purees?

I love our Magic Bullet. If I made A roast for the family I would Blend up some meat add a cooked carrot & some juice. It was pretty good.

    Liquid pre-op diet

It just depends on your doc & your starting weight. I wasn’t told to do anything but a bowl prep the night before. I put Myself on a 2 week liquid diet.
