    Post rny throw up

I have thrown up twice post RNY. It seams like it wasn’t as much because my stomach is smaller now. I had a different stomach surgery 12 years ago (Fundilipacation) I was told them that I shouldn’t throw up for at least a year because I could rip something. That has always been in the back of my mine after the RNY. I’m almost 2 years out so I’m not as worried now. just be careful if you can.

    Surgery pain

You will probably be in some type of pain. From the incisions to the gas pain in your shoulder. Yes you get pain meds. Liquid codine, Percocet or Norco. After a few days it can be managed with liquid Tylenol.

    Recovery Time?

10 days is pushing it. Your body has been through major surgery. You are barley eating at 10 days. Take it slow and easy & take off as much time as your employer allows.
  8. Wow! So glad you are doing so good. Men must be different because I sure wasn’t that much real food 2 weeks out! I was still on liquids! Good for you!

    Being-Sleepy

Your body is going through a lot with major surgery & low calories. Give it time for your body to adjust.

    Constipation

We took GasX right after. You can take a fiber powder that you mix in water for constipation right now. (I just can’t think of what it’s called right now!) If you think you are really impacted use an enema. You don’t need to lay down on the ground, just use it while sitting on the toilet & hold it in for a few minutes.

Sea sickness and a wicked stitch

Welcome Lee, The pain under your rib could be gas or could be where you were stitched up & it just needs to heal. Some docs have their patients take an antacid for a few months after surgery to help with healing. Ask your doc about that. People think this is taking the easy way out but it’s not, it’s pretty hard. We still have to face our weight demons to keep the weight off! as your weight drops quickly people are going to start asking questions. Have your answer prepared if you don’t want to tell them about the surgery. I person ally think that WLS needs to be talked about more.

    Feeling so depressed

I’m so sorry. I can Understand how frustrated you are. That was wrong and rude of your nut to cancel your appointment right before your appointment. Is there anyway you can do a video appointment with them?

Has pain in my back and stomach

They say walking helps to get the gas out. The pain in my shoulder lasted 3 weeks! It was horrible!

    Co morbidity

I got approved with a BMI of 33 for medical reasons. A previous surgery to fix a hiatal hernia failed after 12 years. My esophagus was in an L shape & half of my stomach was above my diaphragm. Food was getting stuck 5-6 times a week. Because of my circumstances I didn't have to do any of the prerequisites & my doc was a Thorasic doc & not a Bariatric doc & he told me to get all my info from the internet.

    Puree food ideas plz...

I puréed food that I made for the family. Roast, chicken, carrots. I used the juice from cooking them. They were really good. Much better then baby food! I also made my own applesauce. Pealed an Apple, chopped it up and simmered it with some water & cinnamon. No need to add any sugar. I portioned them up in small containers & put them in the freezer. You also can add unflavored protein powder to anything you purée.

    Bloating after meals?

Same thing happens to me. I don’t know what it is. I don’t get it. How does it happen if my stomach is the size of a shot glass?
  24. Drink a little bit of Coke. That’s what the ER will most likely have you do. I kept small bottles on hand for this reason.
