toodlerue replied to MoominMan's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Dust yourself off. Just don’t do it again. Continue to weigh your food so you don’t over eat. -
I know exactly how you feel! I have taken up drinking way to much during this time! I keep telling myself I’m not gonna buy anymore & then I buy some more! I have put on 30 lbs & I’m not happy with myself at all!

Surgery was approved by insurance

How wonderful!!!! -
Is this all normal? Feeling so worried.
toodlerue replied to kaRmakat's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It is more then likely the gas that was blown into your abdomen during the surgery. Mine lasted 3 weeks! It just depends on how well your doctor is a getting it out before they close you back up. Heat & walking should help. -
Been there & felt the same way! You have just sent your body into shock! It will get better. The dizziness could be from being dehydrated. It is super hard to get in all the protein & water in the 1st couple of weeks. It might take you most of the day to get a whole protein shake down. But in a few days it will be better. Your stomach is still swollen & mad at you. Give it some more time!

How much guidance are you receiving before bypass surgery
toodlerue replied to Myturn4me's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My i insurance Cigna has a dietitian & a RN call me every week or so to check on me I received so much help from them. See if your insurance has something like that! My bypass was for medical purposes only. I had a high BMI for my height (36%). Half of my stomach was above my diaphragm. Since my doctor was a Thorasic surgon (and the leading lung replacement doc in my state). The only direction I got from him was to get all my info from the internet! I didn't have any insurance hoops to jump through although it was pretty easy for my daughter to get approval. -

How long does the gas last had the bypass surgery at 7:30 this morningp
toodlerue replied to Choptop83's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Not to scare you but my gas pains in my left shoulder lasted for 3 weeks! Pain pills didn’t really help. Heat helped a lot. My daughter hardly had any pain. It’s all in the technique your surgon uses to remove the gas. My surgeon wasn’t very good at. My daughter’s was good at it. -
I dont think you will be up for it. You are going to be in pain. You are going to be tired the 1st few weeks. You probably won’t be cleared to drive yet.
-
Take a deep breath & enjoy the feeling! Congratulations!
-
Yes it is. Some people find that taking Bioten helps them. Others just get their hair cut shorter.
-
Hhuumm that is an interesting question. I take pain meds & haven’t really thought about how my RNY has affected them. I did talk with my pain specialist about it a few weeks ago & he said he didn’t see any reason that they shouldn’t work the same now.

Sending good vibes! Hospital check list: chapstick, toiletries, own pillow, slippers or slide on sandals, phone charger, wear same comfy clothes home that you wore to the hospital. -
To never even test your new self to see if you can have sugar ever again! I’ve slipped back into my horrible eating habits & have gained 25 lbs. I’m so upset with myself & I’m having a hard time getting back on track. Those food & alcohol demons will always be with me!

Fresh mozzarella is really soft. I would Say yes as long as it’s not deep fried.

Your stomach is still a muscle. It will stretch & it will go back. This is how the Surgon explained it to me.
-
That’s wonderful!

Hypothyroidism and Gastric Bypass
toodlerue replied to Sabs211's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Being tired is a very typical symptom for anyone with rapid weight loss after a surgery! Our bodies are going through a major change right now! Consult with your surgeon, but my bet Is that he will tell you that is normal. Give yourself some love by not trying to do so much. Your body is still in recovery mode. It will get better & then you will have way more energy then you have had in a long time! -
Call your Surgon!!! Please don’t rely on what someone on the internet tells you! It could be nothing, but it could be something!!! Don’t chance it!

Favorite Fitness Calorie Tracking App???
toodlerue replied to GAjeepGirl's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The thing I don't like about My Fitness Pal is that it takes into account how much exercise you do and adjust your calories for it. To get it to not do that you have to pay $20 a month & that’s not worth it when there are other apps you can use to count just calories.
