It will make you run to the bathroom periodically forever. I wouldn't mind going 45 minutes away either. When I was a kid, my grandma was 45 minutes away and we went to see her twice a week.

I have been diabetic and on metformin for 13 years and it has never helped me lose an ounce. In fact, I had to combine it with Actos to even get it to do the job it's made for! I'd get a new pcp. This one doesn't know what he's doing.

I see the nutritionist 5/3. I know the principles of what shell say already. I'm really trying to get started on my own but I can't get the "nope, I won't be able to eat that in the future, so I'll eat it now" thought out of my head. I know it's all that stuff that got me where I'm at today - but sometimes I feel like I have no control. My whole life, my dad's side of the family showed love through food. Great big family gatherings for no particular reason - my grandma made the best white bread, baked beans, cookies... Anyway, I'm doing well with breakfast: three egg omlet with varied stuffings depending on what I have. Lunch is ok: I'm working towards a salad a day. Then there's dinner, where I completely undo all of my hard work from the whole day... *Sigh* try again tomorrow... -

Too complicated lol. I think I'll need to put together a picture book entitled "Momma can eat this but not this" - he's not stupid, just stubborn. And he's from Idaho, so the idea of a meal without potatoes is like dining in a foreign country to him. [emoji15] -

Around here, the initial consultation is with a doctor in the weight management clinic. Then you have 3 classes, 1 per month while you work on losing 10% before you get to meet the surgeon. Then if they ok all of that, they do the psychology approval and finally schedule the surgery. All in all it's a 6-8 month process. Sent from my LGMP260 using BariatricPal mobile app -

I am diabetic, type 2 diagnosed in my early 20s. I tried every oral available at the time, up to the point where my educator is concerned I've become type 1 now. I'm on an insulin pump and gearing up for RNY. Sent from my LGMP260 using BariatricPal mobile app -

Just starting. First class in 2 weeks. Sent from my LGMP260 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hi. Brand spanking new to the WLS arena... my first class is 4/27/18, so my surgery will be sometime late this year or early next year. I'm planning on RNY bypass - that's what was suggested because I am diabetic and have multiple comorbidities. The support groups at my hospital are on Monday at 330! Good grief, people have to work lol Anyway, kind of looking to replace that if possible... I started the process back in 2013, panicked after my 2nd support group meeting where I met 2 ladies on feeding tubes from complications, and have just now regained my nerve. So... hi!
