    Tomorrow makes a week

After years of being banded, I am now on liquid diet. They saw a food pouch forming and removed all liquid from my band. I have been back on liquids since Thursday. I know it's hard when the ppl around you are eating . When it's meal time I get my children and husbands food on the table and I have my broth in soup bowl and use my spoon. I know I'm not really eating food but it feels like I am. I even get the frozen ice cups so I can eat that with a spoon. The liquid part of your diet is important so don't rush it. Soon enough, the mushy stage will be here and you can enjoy lots of things. My favorite is mashed refried beans with smooth taco sauce some shredded low fat cheese and a dollop of fat free sour cream. It will be amazing.this is a recipe I lived on when I first got banded and made it to the mushy stage. My doctor gave us recipes that made it way easier in the mushy stage. Good luck you'll do Great!

    Isopure vs. Premier Clear?

Hey... If you're looking for a tasty protein shake my favorites are ensure light vanilla... They are 70 calls per bottle and not thick or chalky like shakes you have to mix yourself. I also like premier protein shakes . They come in banana vanilla strawberry chocolate and sunflower. They are about 100 calls or so per bottle and taste great and they cost about 6$ or so in Walmart. They won't make you feel gassy or bloated either. As for waters I don't like fruit favors in my water but if you do the propel waters they gave me after my surgery were ok. You can also try the muscle milk

    Blended Shakes and Swallowing Air

I never used the powdered shakes because they seemed to thick for me. Instead I drink light vanilla ensures through the day. They are only 70 calories a bottle. They are pre mixed and not thick at all. You can fink they in any rite aide or cvs for about $10 for a six pack. Their are some drinks you can find at Walmart too similar to ensure or muscle milk, but are in lower calories so you can drink more in a day. They come in vanilla chocolate strawberry and banana . Even a sunflower blend pre mixed drink. They taste great and can be brought for about $6 for either a six pack or four pack . I can't remember the name completely I think it's premier protein. All walmarts have it . And you won't feel gassy or bloated after... Good luck

    Any success stories?

I was banded in 2007 . I started at 212 and lost 14 lbs before the surgery. My doctors goal weight for me was 150 lbs in a year. But I was lucky and I made it to 118-121 lbs. that was my stable weight until I had my second daughter. Then my weight went down after I had my baby. I went down to my normal weight. I love my band and even tho I had a few problems I love it

    Lap Band Reset

I had a leak in the tubing once as well. The surgery went well and I was good for a few years. Good luck on Monday. I'm sure all will go well.
