Conversion from Gastric Sleeve to Bypass

actually, many docs wont do the sleeve if you have bad reflux. i can tell you that since i had bypass i have had heart burn twice...nothing that I would even call reflux. i used to be on protonix but havent taken it since the bypass. they also do the barium swallow to see how bad the reflux is -

Vertical Sleeve Revision To Rny
val replied to abbybeep's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
well i have had a complicated journey. i had the band in 2008. in 2010 the band slipped and i had the sleeve done. after the sleeve it was pure agony. i vomited basically everyday and had awful reflux. in september i had RNY done...it solved those problems, ive had a few issues since but not as bad as those. i needed to have my gall bladder out. that was done and i cont to have intermittent abdominal pain. the pain is severe but doesnt last long. my surgeon thinks i may have an internal hernia. he wants me to have a diagnostic laparoscopy to rule this out. i am so much better since the RNY -
i had my rny sept 19th but i wont lose too much. this was done due to a complication from the sleeve. ive lost 10 lbs and would love to lose 5 more.

well i spoke too soon...the gas is back,,,like a long lost friend,,,NOT!!!!!
-
omg...cant nelieve i found this thread....i had RNY in september and i had so much gas, i couldnt believe it. i never knew a person could have so much gas. well in december, i had my gall bladder out and now no gas! i dont know if it will come back or not

i had my gall bladder out on the 7th...im still having pain....its kind of random, the dr said it was cuz the gall bladder was attached to my liver and he had to use the cautery to detach it. it seems i get the pain at night. last night i was vomiting with the pain....now im starting with pain again...this is so frustrating
-
im not nauseated...alot of discomfort today. i think i waited too long to take the pain med. im glad its out cuz you are right you never know when it will act up!
-
i am really sore today. yes it was easier than rny but still painful. i guess i would say the pain is moderate today
-
i had my gall bladder out yesterday. much easier than the rny

val replied to fran's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i seem to be eating more...having some nausea and abdominal pain, but im having my gall bladder out this week -
same here

that doesnt sound tight that you cant have a TT if you have had your gall bladder out. costs for a TT will vary by where you live. my ps originally quoted me 4500 if i was all self pay, but my insurance co did cover the panni, so i ended up paying around 3000
