  3. judy, it was really hard for me on the sb too. i think one reason is we have dieted so much in the past and if they worked we wouldnt need surgery. i missed walking yesterday, that darn rain. but i really didnt mind taking off it was my birthday yesterday. are you going to the support group this month. i would like to go, but dont want to go by myself
  4. his office is on spindrift in williamsville- i see him next week, my first appt with him since my band. he was the one that actually referred me to dr. posner but i ended up with dr. hoffman, which i am glad of.

    Constantly weighing yourself?

i dont have that problem anymore- i dont weigh myself even everyday now, but when i did losing the scale is what helped me. i knew i was having a problem and all it does is build that negativity. good luck
  8. i didnt lose the whole 5% and my surgery was approved. it depends on your insurance.

    Constantly weighing yourself?

i used to do the same thing at one time. i literally would weigh myself and depending what the scale said wuld determine if i would eat or not. i actually had to throw the scale out, which i did.it was a scale addiction today, i do have a scale but no longer have the problem- i can weigh myself nce a day
  10. yes high on the urine and the suppression test was normal
  11. okay maybe i will try to go next month. i have had high cortisol levels in the past and had to have the same test- mine were always negative so dont worry

  15. Judy, i know you think it is taking a long time to get through the process. i felt the same way. i attended the seminar 6/28/07 (i know the exact date because that is my birthday). my first appt was the end of september(the 3 hr appt) and i was banded 3/31/08. i think feeling the way you do is the reason you should come and walk- you need us to support you. so i hope i see you sat
  16. judy, i didnt do so well on phase 1 of south beach. i did better with phase 2 when i could have some carbs.
  17. i think they wait until that point for the weight loss and to have everything else done. and you are right it is very stressful
  18. i only had dr.hoffman because that is who they assigned me too. i would have been fine with either dr.posner or dr. forbes, too val
  19. you see the doctor 1 week after surgery and then at the 6 wk point. then the next visit is 6-8 wks out. plus dr hoffman has a walking group that meets every sat at the juicery in delaware park to walk. its open to all. we meet at 8am. some are other docs patients and some havent even had surgery yet. its hoffman's little support group
  20. hi all i did have dr.hoffman who was great, but i heard dr. forbes is good also. when you are finally banded it will be worth all the bs. the nurses at buffalo general weregreat- and i am a nurse so that is a compliment. hang in there it will be worth it in the long run
  21. it doesnt matter to me Judy. depending who shows up at 8am, i thought we could do once around and then head over to the rose garden
