    March-April Rny-ers

I had RNY April 3rd! I stayed in the hospital until yesterday, so 3 days. I had excessive scar tissue from the lap band. It was taken out 4 years ago after having it 8 years. I had probably the worst pain of my life after RNY and it was from the drain I had and the scar tissue they said. I am a million times better today than I was day 3. The sensation drinking is nothing like the lap band or my normal self- it is so smooth. I’m pacing myself but I feel I drink more than the 1 oz in 15 mins that was suggested to me. I’m on full liquids and can tolerate premier protein well. I have 2 a Day right now and just try to get my water in when I have soup I add unflavored protein! I’ve had some bad gas pain but ain’t nothing like that drain pain lol
  2. Dr. Gatmatain at Baptist weight loss center is amazing and his dietician Ashton is so knowledgable. Best of all I have their cell phone numbers if I need anything or am questioning something post op! I went to them for help after having my band removed 4 years ago. I ended up getting RNY 4 days ago. I had an excessive amount of scar tissue from the lap band but Dr. G had me out in 3 hours when he quoted my family 4! He checked on me in the hospital each day he did the same for my best friend. He absolutely cares!! He is also just as talented a surgeon as Dr.Lord (they both learned the technique from the same dr) but with Dr.G you gain a family member and feel heard. I’ve seen Dr. Lord when I was 5 years out with my lap band. I’d gotten to goal weight but flying screwed me up and he and his staff were awful to me. I went to the er after that for help with my band.
