Is this normal? I’m a little worried..
AASosa replied to Dfox1984's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am and always have been a chugging machine lol I was very worried about this, for the first few weeks after surgery I was sipping cause of the swelling but now I drink a few ounces at a time no issues at all. The hardest thing to relearn is not eating and drinking at the same time, stick to the 30min rule and you'll be golden... I find drinking fluids throughout the day is harder cause I don't make the time for it. I usually get 2 30oz Yeti glasses in before 5pm (Gym) and then after dinner at 7pm I drink 2/3 more depending on how long I stay up. -
Can I have a half glass of Wine with a steak
AASosa replied to apositivelife4me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sh!t... Enjoy yourself Ive polished off a few drinks since surgery, just don't do it everyday cause this surgery makes you a light weight. I had my first beer the other day when I went to Bimini, drank 3/4 of the bottle and got full lol messed up my lunch and added calories to my day but couldn't pass it up with the beach view. Enjoy your date -
I am down 52lbs since my surgery April 4th, I find that removing all carbs and sugar from diet seems to produce the best results. Whenever I eat bread, rice, potatoes I tend to loose slower, usually to get over a stall I jump on a liquid protein diet for a day and it kick starts me right back up. Excersing has definitely play a crucial part in my weight loss so be sure to get in the gym soon to help you achieve your goal. Things to avoid all together Alcoholic beverages, sugars as they cause huge eating binges atleast for me. my breakfast when I have time is egg whites and a slice of deli ham mixed together. If not I do a coffee and protein shake same as you. good luck

Glad to see everyone is doing well... How many of you are exercising?? I began about a month ago full go with my brother, I am getting in 45 min of cardio a day and 1 hour of Weightlifting and have noticed a dramatic change in my body composition. Bought my first new set of jeans the other day and squeezed into a 42 from a 48/50 before surgery so it felt great. Dieting so far has been good for the most part, I eat a lot cleaner than I use to, My protein intake is good I feel like I can eat a lot in one sitting (4ounces protein and about an ounce of Misc Carbs. My issue is still a balanced diet as I just do not eat fruits and vegetables ( I am that Guy) so I am pretty limited to new recipes. Since we are being Honest every now and then I sneak in 2 slices of think crust papa johns pizza or a few Jack and cokes on the weekend lol (I know I know...) Working on the Yolo lifestyle choices I make.. All I know is I am so much happier now with the sleeve versus the Band and feel that it is much easier to deal with on a day to day basis. Anyways keep kicking ass everyone!

I am down 44lbs have stalled twice broken the stall the same way EAT LESS and hit the cardio lol both times great results. I find that eating carbs and sweets causes my stalls so I’m sticking to liquid proteins for breakfast, solid proteins for lunch and dinner and lots of H2O... hope everyone is remaining motivated theough there journeys!

Gastric sleeve Self pay...Any recommendation?
AASosa replied to Naturalz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I Used Dr.Michael Choi in ft.lauderdale and paid $12,000 plus stress test $350 to get my surgery done but I was also removing my lapband might be cheaper for just the surgery. I did not stay at the hospital checked out 2 hours after surgery and recovered at home. Financed 9,000 worth of the surgery for 36 months at $315 a month no prepayment penalties Good luck -
How long has your longest stall lasted?
AASosa replied to SleeveinIL's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
2 weeks into a stall right now but i blame myself, eating normal foods and sugary treats with the kids... So not really dieting besides eating small portions. I am recommitting beginning today, planning on doing liquids for 3-5 days in order to kickstart again along with the gym to get past this HUMP.... -
Might be cancelling Surgery. Given the choice would you do it again?

I was stuck at between 301-298 for almost 2 weeks. I started the gym this week and cut out carbs from my diet and no sugar drinks..... Ive lost 5lbs this week and down to 293. Sometimes you need to make a few changes to get the ball rolling again, Find the motivation and track what your putting in should help you out.

Need some support from people who have had the sleeve
AASosa replied to TreeMystic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Zero Regrets.... I am a undisciplined eater have been all my life, I could focus for a few months loose 30-60lbs and within a year I would find them all right back plus more. This surgery will change your life but its not a miracle cure, you still need to put in the work (Healthier eating choices, and Excercise) Good luck and stay focused. -
lol my last Goodbye was a 25 wing order of which I ate 18 of them and a full pitcher of Amberbock... I miss beer more than food but down 35lbs since that Cheat meal and Feel so much better about myself, so enjoy yourself and get focused on the task ahead. Honestly once sleeved its pretty awesome you eat for Example you eat 1 Chicken tender and you feel like you at 12 of them, Saving money and chickens

One week post-op and hungry!
AASosa replied to Darin'Sharon's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
lol don’t be affraid to eat when hungry, popsicles jello water go ahead and feed yourself. I was hungry the day after surgery just stick to the diet and listen to your body. It will get better the further out you get things will become more regular plus you’ll have more substance to keep you full longer. -
Eating fast sucks, the feeling afterwards is no fun (thanksgiving dinner stuffed) Cut your protein into smaller pieces and chew the crap out of them should help. I had the lapband before so I guess I had that advantage mentally. I still drink water or eat food and expect it to get stuck lol (HATED THAT THING) Lately ive been eating, and when I start to feel satisfied I cover my plate and place it in the microwave. If i didn't eat enough I go back for seconds about an hour 1/2 later.

How are all you Early April sleepers doing??? I am feeling great my body feels much better than before (less knee and backpain) and my clothing is getting nice and baggy which makes me feel good lol. I hope everyone is loosing the weight, I started solids a little earlier than I expected and have no issues usually my meals are 3-4oz which sounds like a Little but dammit I get full lol ive learned to take breaks/pauses when eating as to not overdue it, Best part of the sleeve is your meals last all day!!! I eat and within 2 hours I am ready to eat again so its a win win still taste great, You get full and get to eat more often lol The hardest thing for me to overcome is not drinking water with my meals bad habit and hard to break when your fixated on drinking something... Anyways hope everyone checks in...

First couple of days for me were very similar lots of rumbling and stomach cramps/spasms usually when I was empty. Focus on getting your fluids in nice and slow but consistently. I didn't do any protein for an entire week just broths and strained chicken soup and lots of water and sugarfree ice pops (Small sips constantly don't forget). Good luck hope you are doing better by now.

Weight stalled third week post op
AASosa replied to nyguy28's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
In the same boat, Have lost 3lbs in 2 weeks but down is down... I have noticed a difference in my shape as my fat clothing attire is real loose now so wearing things i hadn't worn in a while. Need to make a few modifications to my diet, and go to the Gym Consistently (Once in 10 days isn't going to cut it lol) Make a few changes to your daily routine and im sure it will translate to the scale. Keep it going one day at a time. -
I kept my lapband a secret for 5 years from friends and they always knew something was up. No social drinking, my portion sizes were small I was constantly getting up from meals to toss my cookies and it was a B!tch. I decided that that since I had failed with my lapband and regained all the weight I had lost now would be a positive time to be honest. Weight struggles have followed me my whole life no one can criticize you for taking control of your life they should applaud you. Whatever you decide to do good luck with your weight loss journey.

Drinking enough water? Once I got on the protein shakes I got more regular.
