Can anyone help me out in Knoxville?

Thank you so much!!! Do you mind if I ask if one of these places is where you go? I loved the place I went for fills back home and would feel really comforted in knowing I could find a place with positive people who truly care about your progression. Thanks again! :smile2:
  5. Hi there Bandsters, I'm from San Antonio TX, but recently got married and moved to Knoxville TN. I am looking for some recommendations on where to go to get my fills. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

    support group knoxville tn

Hi! I just moved to Knoxville from San Antonio and I saw your post about the support group. Does it still meet at the same time and place? Also, I'm looking for a place where I can get my fills, is there somewhere you would recommend? Thanks so much! :-)
  7. Congratulations on your surgery! If it makes you feel better, I was SO sore (and groggy from all the medicine) the entire first week after the surgery I was wondering if I would ever feel normal again. Trust me. YOU WILL! I was told the surgery would make me feel like I had "done several sit-ups the day before and was sore." Ha ha! I can laugh at it now, but I felt it was a little bit more like a Mack truck had rolled over my stomach. LOL! (ok maybe I'm embellishing a little, but I do remember being very sore and having really bad gas pains.) As far as fearing that you may have ripped your port, I would suggest checking in with your Doctor just to ease your mind, but there have definitely been times when I have felt a burning in the port area. (esp. after I was healed enough to do a little bit of an ab workout...the next day the port area really had that sore/burning feeling, but I've been filled since then with no problems.) Anyway...I was SO anxious about absolutely everything right after my surgery, and everything has turned out so wonderfully! I'm sure you are going to have so much success with your band and feel SO much better even within the next few days! God bless and hang in there!

    Pre-pre-op

Hey congratulations on taking the steps to change your life in such a positive way! I had my surgery about 4 months ago and have been so excited about how healthy I am getting. Good luck to you my friend!

    Tickers

I'm trying to change my weight on my ticker (down 7 lbs Yay!) but I forgot my pin number, and I don't see anything I can click on like you normally do for other sites when you forget your password or pin (and then it has you answer a secret question.) Am I missing something? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Just updating you guys!

Congratulations on your weight loss! Sounds like you're doing a great job. I know how stressful moving can be, so congrats on not "stress eating" through that whole process. I will say a prayer for you that you can find someone to take you in for a fill. Best wishes!

    Scared

You know, I was actually really nervous about the exact same thing. I kept imagining that I would essentially be "vomiting" up my food all the time. But from what I understand PBing is different from that. And I finally decided to go through with my surgery when one person told me...you know what? Don't worry so much, it tastes the exact same coming up as it was going down. I know that still probably sounds pretty gross- but for some reason it made me feel better knowing that it wasn't surrounded by the disgusting "bile" taste that accompanies true vomiting. Bless you. I hope your fears subside. Your feelings are very valid and being a newly banded gal myself I empathize with you.
  12. I'm actually on the antidepressant Wellbutrin and it is wonderful. In fact, I specifically switched to that one, because it is one of the only ones that will not cause you to gain weight. I actually lost when I switched to it. Of course it's important to talk through all the pros and cons of each type of pill with your doctor, but maybe it would work out better for you? Good luck friend, I will say a prayer for you!

    Horrible Gas

I have to agree with the above post. My heating pad helped me TREMENDOUSLY. Also, don't know if it would work for anyone else, but when I would lay on my back with my feet flat on the bed (Knees pointing up to the ceiling) it seemed to help the gas pass (pardon the pun) through my system faster. Also at the hospital, they just kept telling me to belch to relieve the pain. Bless him. Hope he feels better soon!

3 weeks out & eating like a horse!

Hey guys! Just wanted to encourage you to hang in there. I'm actually at the same stage you are, and it's amazing to me how quickly old habits can rear their ugly head (taking big bites....eating too quickly....) Oh well, I am really excited though...I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
