Some leave, others come by periodically but don't comment often. I agree that it would be nice to have an "intermediate" level forum for those that aren't newbies, but not quite vets, either. Otherwise, it's very easy for us to slip away before we get to veteran status.

Even as a teenager I had trouble with my hands swelling when I exercised. I weighed around 150 and have always drunk tons of water. (Yes, Matt, way more than 128!) How is your blood pressure? That's the one thing that has always been "off" for me. Very low.

I get ya. I don't like the taste either, but I treat them like medicine. Otherwise, I'll never hit my protein goals. I've just ordered the Syntrax nectar variety pack to see if I like any of those flavors.

Yep, doesn't matter how nutritional they are if you won't drink them! Which protein waters have you tried?

They're not a terrible choice, but low on the "bang for the buck" scale. At 160 calories, you can get 30 grams of protein from Premier Protein. Protein water can give you 15-20g of protein for 60-90 calories. But you have to experiment and see what you tolerate. That's the most important thing. The carb level isn't bad if you're not insulin-resistant. If you have insulin issues, most people keep carbs as low as humanly possible in the beginning.

Welcome to the forums. This is a very friendly and supportive community! Congrats on your successful surgery and hope you continue to recover well. Drinking will get easier as the swelling in your throat/stomach subsides. Right now, the water has to trickle through very small openings, but that will get better day by day. I was 58. Have been overweight my entire life, a professional yo-yoer. Put on the last 50 pounds in the last 5 years when I became an accountant, so very sedentary at work. I've been fortunate that I didn't have any co-morbidities, so I wasn't eligible to do the surgery (insurance-wise) until the last year or so.

Have you checked out the Skinnytaste website? It's not bariatric-specific, but the foods are healthy and the recipes I've tried have been great! These are all foods the whole family can eat.

Do you blend them together or what? You gave me such a flashback with Jesus, Mary and Joseph. My grandmother always said that.
