Hey! Just introducing myself :)
Orchids&Dragons replied to eporter's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to the site! This is a very friendly and supportive community. My advice is to be on the lookout for people who have surgery the same time (roughly) as you. It's wonderful to go through the process with buddies going through the same thing at the same time. Wising you an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! -
#15 - Body part I'm most grateful for - My uterus (which I no longer have) because it blessed me with 4 wonderful children.

Food Before and After Photos
Orchids&Dragons replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I hate shopping. There is no amount of money I would save that would make Black Friday worthwhile! (online is a different story, of course) -
14th - rejection. I think I'm thankful for all of them. I'm in a good place right now and probably wouldn't be here if I'd followed a different path. It's possible I'd be in a better place but it's also possible I'd be far worse off.

My mercifully boring bypass story - M34, diabetic, lower BMI
Orchids&Dragons replied to modymatey's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you for sharing! You're correct that many people who had relatively easy surgeries/results don't come to the forums and share their stories so the boards are disproportionately negative. -
#13 - Even though Autumn is my favorite, I am most grateful for Spring, the time of birth, growth and renewal. Mirror question - actually, my hair was much better in middle school. I think I have finally stopped losing my hair (again) from an illness that I had in April.

Maybe once your boobs are bigger, he won't notice your waistband 🤣

No, I hadn't. I'll have to check it out. Although, it'll be hard to pull me away from Wesley Snipes 💖

Omgosh, you're the first person I'd enjoy going to the movies with. (If something doesn't blow up in the first 5 minutes, you've lost me!) Although, when it comes to Marvel, I'm a Blade girl, all the way!

People - Family, of course. BFF. Friends I've made here that truly understand the process we're going through.

It's predicted to hit here between 10-11 am. Brrrrrr!

Love it!

#10 Childhood - growing up around my cousins. (24 first cousins, don't even know how many second cousins!) I have so many good memories of them! My siblings missed out on a lot of that because we moved to Texas when I was 12 and my siblings are all younger than me. #11 Movie - the Harry Potter series because I have so many wonderful memories of watching them with my kids.

@Alex Brecher I think this is a great idea! What do you think? -
Gastric Sleeve Tom. Morn. (11/11/19) - Advice?
Orchids&Dragons replied to InterceptorNYC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Best wishes for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery. Advice - don't compare yourself with others. You may lose faster, you may lose slower. But we all run our own race and it's a marathon. If you don't have a lot of support at home, come on here. The community is very friendly and supportive. -

Orchids&Dragons replied to amithistrose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's interesting. No, I've not had that problem. -

Itching at incision sites
Orchids&Dragons replied to Hansel4pres's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Nerves in your skin get cut when they make the incisions. They are regrowing. (I'm sure there's a better medical term for this, but you get the idea) -
Just a little eye-candy 😉

I'm sure it all depends on the length of the flight. Many people fly home from their surgery in Mexico after a few days.

Congrats on the 40 mile ride, though!

My hubby has overall been great. He really wants to be "Mr. Helper" and with all the complications, he's had ample opportunity!
