Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Orchids&Dragons replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
In my case the surgeon said they didn't really form a pouch, they just connected the "stomach" to the small intestine and food just drops through. I thought this was controlled by the size of the stoma, but it sounds like the stoma, in my case, does not provide any restriction at all. My "string bean" was so restrictive because of the valve at the bottom so I couldn't overfill it. Now, there's no valve. -

Weight Gain after Pregnancy, Stress over Sick Daughter - 5Yrs. Post Op
Orchids&Dragons replied to msdrea24's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm so sorry for all your struggles. How is your daughter doing now? I can't imagine how difficult maintenance is during and after a pregnancy. I was well past that stage when I had my wls, but I can understand how hard it was to stay on a healthy diet with a sick baby. I had a bad habit of giving birth to the biggest, healthiest-looking, critically-ill babies in the NICU. Of my four children, I only got to hold one of them the day they were born. You need support badly. It's not selfish of you. You can't take care of others if you're totally depleted. If you don't have access to a therapist, try a priest or pastor or check with local mental health clinics. Some treat people for free or on a sliding scale if income is an issue. Google is your friend here. I wish you good luck. -
Major buyers remorse😭
Orchids&Dragons replied to Momoftwoboys410's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The first week is the hardest, but it gets better. Don't focus on now. Focus on the difference you'll see in a month, in a year, in 5 years. Worry about fluids first. Food is definitely secondary. None of us are going to starve in a week. ((HUG)) and I hope your travel goes well. -

There are some seriously dedicated weight loss fridges out there! Don't judge me too harshly for our fridges - I live with 3 grown, non-dieting men! Got back to my ticket weight today, yeah!

All those bodysuits are like a throwback to my high school years! Kitty, since your bodysuits aren't foundation garments, do you like them just to avoid shirt tails? -
But why wouldn't they stare? You've lost over 100 lbs.! If they already knew you, of course they're curious. I would be!

Advice for a supportive yet high anxiety spouse
Orchids&Dragons replied to mzliz731's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
My hubby is also the Nervous Nelly of our house. Remind yours that you've both been through this type of surgery before. Try to get him to focus on the future, not the present. What the two of you will be doing in a year, in 5 years, in 10 years. How does that future look without the surgery? Best of luck with your surgery! -

I'm in, better late than never. My goal is to quit grazing all day. I've been doing it ever since February and it's GOT TO STOP!
