3 months Post Up HELP!!!
Orchids&Dragons replied to Sammyhasbeensleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Your weight loss is excellent. There's no problem here. You have to be realistic; you won't lose 20 lbs every month until you hit goal. Some months will be better than others. -
Stalls can happen at any time just keep working your plan and the scale will start to move eventually. This is a good time to track your measurements. They often go down when your weight isn't moving. Good luck!

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread
Orchids&Dragons replied to sideeye's topic in The Lounge
I think it's a 10-month diet fatigue. I feel the same way. MEH! -
It could have been how fast you ate, but likely you're just not ready for that stage. A lot of people can't do grilled chicken until 6 months out. It's one of the last meats you should try.

I needed to stick with ground meats for quite a while before I could tolerate "solid" meats

I used to have to threaten my kids to tidy up before the housekeepers came (every 2 weeks). Told the kids that the housekeepers had permission to throw away any toy found on the floor. That usually helped. Didn't do anything for the clothes on the floor though. Kids didn't care if they were thrown out. They'd rather run around naked anyway. We were known in the neighborhood as "that house at the end of the street with the naked children"!

Congrats! It's such a wonderful feeling!

Liquid amounts question ?
Orchids&Dragons replied to chattycat's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Maybe because smoothies are a lot thicker than regular liquids. I guess they might take longer to exit your pouch. I've never been told that, though. Let us know what your regular NUT says, please! -
Liquid amounts question ?
Orchids&Dragons replied to chattycat's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
She might have been trying to spread out your protein, not the actual liquids. Some doctors advise never to take in more than 30g of protein at a time, saying that it can't be absorbed. Other doctors say that the 30g limit isn't correct. If your morning smoothie is very high protein, that may have been her reasoning. -
Just saw it this weekend: Deadpool 2. Absolutely laugh out loud funny if you're into that kind of movie. (We are.) One of the few sequels as good as the first movie. And yes, they are comic-book characters, but this is NOT a family-friendly film! Do not watch with your 7 year-old. Absolutely nothing in the film to trigger food cravings!

You understand that you're dealing with the real Carmen Sandiego, right? -
Why do you think that was a bad choice? It's perfectly acceptable in my book!

Hey @FluffyChix maybe this is what you've experienced?

I wasn't even told to crush my pills if I could swallow them whole, which I did. -
In a month I only lost 6lbs :’(

Some people heal more quickly than others. You may still be very swollen inside. It will happen. Good luck! -
Are you meeting your protein goals? It doesn't sound like you could be with as little as you're eating. Even though the largest weight loss is in the first 6 months, for VSGers, you continue to lose for 18-24 months, so don't despair - you have time! Good luck!

All my meds right out of the hospital were in pill form and I did not have trouble taking them. If you have issues, crush or check with the pharmacist for a liquid variant. -

Call your local hospitals, they usually know who host support groups.
