Stage 3 (bariatric soft puree) after one week?!
Orchids&Dragons replied to shanshan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't worry about the speed of the advance from one stage to another. All timelines are guesstimates. Try small amounts of the new food per your instructions and see how you do. If your tummy isn't happy, go back to full liquids for a few more days. Just because the timeline says one week doesn't mean that's where you'll be. But, you may be pleasantly surprised. I hope you're one of the lucky super-healers! -
I had my sleeve revised to an RnY last October. It took several months for the sore throat to heal, but it's much better now. Like you, I was concerned about the long-term use of PPIs. I thought the recovery was a bit faster for the revision, probably because I didn't have the tightness from the swollen sleeve.

Premier protein shakes/water
Orchids&Dragons replied to shanshan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I mostly used Premier Protein shakes and Protein20 waters. Don't stock up on a lot of one thing, get a variety because your tastes may change after surgery. Good luck! -
Congrats on making it to Onederland!

I was sleeping on a wedge before surgery and kept it afterward. -
How did you feel after gastric sleeve surgery? Any
Orchids&Dragons replied to Asull1188's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, very normal. As the swelling goes down, the fluids will move through more easily. That's why they have you take little sips in the beginning so that you don't overwhelm your capacity! -

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Orchids&Dragons replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My cheeks (north and south) are totally gone and my twins are just a memory! I mean, they were only Cs at my heaviest, so the bar was pretty low to begin with, but now I have 80-yr-old man bubbies! Just a bit of jiggle around the pink! -

Really interesting talk as I sit here with a glass of wine! 😂 I do take exception to his comment that no mammals are built to live off carbohydrates. Ok, yes, there is some nutritional value in grass, fruit, et al, but cows (not on feedlots) and horses only eat plants, which are carbohydrates. C'mon! -

Food Cravings Chart - Do You Have Cravings? Here's the Fix!
Orchids&Dragons replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have to agree with you that my cravings were really under control on a day-to-day basis with Atkins. I just couldn't sustain that long term. I really don't care for meat much and love my fruits and veggies. -

I've used keto sticks and a breath meter. Neither ever showed that I got into ketosis, even in the beginning when I was only eating 300 cals/day. I had to have been fat-burning, but never could prove it by the meters.
