Protein waters might be easier on your stomach for now. But focus on your fluids! The protein will come. -

Sleeve vs rny need help
Orchids&Dragons replied to NEMO2010's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No matter which surgery you have, there are ways to sabotage yourself. For instance, eating sliders because, face it, we get pleasure from eating and sliders let us eat larger amounts. Many people who've been really successful don't spend a lot of time in the forums. The forums tend to be full of people who've had issues. We love the successful vets who are still around and provide advice and inspiration, but they are few and far between. So, don't think that the forums are necessarily representative of the entire wls community. Good luck with your surgery and I hope you have a speedy recovery! -

Anyone have their gallbladder removed after their surgery?
Orchids&Dragons replied to avm1014's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
That's terrible. I would think your surgeon should be very concerned that you can't keep anything down. What does he/she say? I had mine out Feb 27th, but fortunately for me, I was a year out from wls, so I was able to eat well beforehand. You got hit with a double whammy. -

Eating for the first time did NOT go well!
Orchids&Dragons replied to Jezzabelle360's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
So sorry! Hard lesson learned - many people don't tolerate eggs well for a long time. Also, the pickle juice may have irritated your sewn tummy. Hope you feel better soon. I could only do 1/4 cup for a long time. Maybe you can try soft fish (I poached tilapia) or protein oatmeal for starters. Good luck! -

February Sleevers - Help!
Orchids&Dragons replied to Thinandfab's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The 3-week stall usually happens anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks post op and can last for up to 3 weeks or so. It sucks, but it's just your body reacting to all the mean sh!t that you've done to it lately. You just need to follow your plan and push through. You can do it! -

I needed probiotics to get solid poops. They gave me antibiotics by IV in the hospital and I always need probiotics afterward.

One day until Surgery jitters

Even at times that weight loss slows or stalls, you often lose inches. It helps to keep you motivated and positive during the trying times! -
Post weight loss surgery loose skin l, plastic surgery needed
Orchids&Dragons replied to RNHealthyAC84's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
There are certain things that some insurance carriers will cover. For instance, if you have skin folds that get rashes in them. This would need to be treated and documented by a doctor. Also, if you have hernias, the insurance might pay for the hernia repair and you might pay for the skin removal done at the same time. But, it is all dependent on your particular situation and your insurance carrier. -

Don't forget to take your measurements! Try to relax. Focus on where you want to be in a year . . . in 5 years . . . in 10 years . . . It will all be worth it! Good luck! Hope all goes smoothly and you have a speedy recovery! -
Calling to Post-Ops;Any Tips to being successful post-op(first weeks, months, year)
Orchids&Dragons replied to Elizabeth94's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Hope all goes smoothly and you have a quick recovery! I would recommend trying to not compare yourself to others. It's soooo tempting, but your journey isn't theirs and there's always a load of backstory that you don't know. Our bodies are all so different and comparing doesn't help. You can only work with the one you've got. I'd also recommend that you take your measurements now. There will be times when you stall (It sucks but happens to most of us). Inches almost always go down when you stall and it helps to keep your spirits up. Good luck! -
No, in fact, the losses slowed down after the revision. But, I don't know if that had anything to do with the surgery or just that I was so close to goal.
