Getting a Revision - but OMG NOT because of weight regain!!!!
Orchids&Dragons replied to summerset's topic in Rants & Raves
From the posts I've seen, it's just a matter of being clear. We make friends here and we just want to be forthcoming. I've seen plenty of posts about revisions for additional weight loss, or band failure, or sleeve failure, etc. and it's not like people beat them up over it. I think people just want to explain why they're having another major surgery. People who don't want to provide details, just don't. -

In my case, losing weight helped a lot with edema. I still have some swelling, but not as bad. Good luck to you!

It's Getting Real!
Orchids&Dragons replied to shannamarie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would also add a variety of clear liquid options: herbal teas, sugar-free popsicles, water flavorings like Crystal Light. The biggest struggle for most people after surgery is getting their fluids in (with or without protein) and you want to have lots of options (and temperature choices) available. Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! -
That's what's referred to here as the foamies. It usually means your sleeve is overfull. That doesn't mean you ate more than your plan states, just that you, personally, can't handle that serving size, yet. You can search for foamies, there are a lot of threads.

I love the recipes at skinnytaste.com. Most of them can be halved and lots of them are freezer-friendly. All the recipes have the nutritional info at the bottom. I plan to make Mexican Shrimp Diablo for dinner tonight.

Told to stop losing??
Orchids&Dragons replied to NYJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She might be afraid that you'll get too low and then rebound. But, if so, she could have been more clear. However, do whatever you want so long as you stay healthy! -

Eating too fast

Instead of thinking it's discomfort, think of it as your body telling you that you are stretching your sleeve. That might give you a different mindset and help you slow down. -
Had Emergency Surgery Just Now

So sorry to hear this. It's scary that complications can arise so long after surgery. Wishing you a speedy recovery! -
It took me a long time (maybe 6 months) before I could tolerate spicy food again. I still don't eat the level of spicy I could pre-op 😥

22 days post op - feel like I messed up somehow
Orchids&Dragons replied to Elizabeth Hiciano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you measuring the amounts of the soft foods and sticking to your doctor's portion sizes? If so, there's no problem. Some people just have an easier time than others and you may be one of them. Also, before deciding you're hungry, try to sort out head-hunger. The way to tell is to think about what you'd like to eat. If you feel hungry and would be happy to eat some egg or soft fish then it's probably true hunger. If you're far more picky about what you want to eat then it's probably head hunger and you should try to distract yourself. Most cravings cease within 20 minutes or so if you don't give in. Good luck on your journey! -

Hmmm, sounds like the woman who wrote the first article was paid to do a hit piece on the low carb proponents.
