I love the produce and spices!

Completely agree! It's one hell of a side effect!

Tell her insurance doesn't pay for anything just to make you feel good. They don't even pay for something you'd really LIKE. If it's not medically necessary, they don't pay - period. I don't know about you, personally, but most people on here had insurance pay for their surgeries.

The Best Decision We’ve EVER Made

Thank you for sharing and best wishes for continued success! -
Lovely! I think the "flowiness" of the slacks emphasizes your tiny waist!

I could drink a whole one in just a few minutes within a few days of surgery. I never had an issue getting liquids down.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! That's wonderful!

Hair loss - what do you use to help hide it?
Orchids&Dragons replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used both the L'Oreal spray and the Toppik. I preferred the L'Oreal. Good luck. This part is annoying but it will stop. -
Beautiful dress, very figure-flattering!

Thanks! From the front I have a waist, but if I wear a smaller top, it pulls taught across my mom-belly and, from the side, it looks pretty d@mn lumpy!

Off to church! I know the shoes are too clunky, but I've got blisters from my interview pumps 😟

Did/do you track measurements and take regular photos?
Orchids&Dragons replied to Zemi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't take progress pictures but I track measurements religiously. It's not difficult with a tape measure you can pick up at the fabric section at Walmart. I'd suggest the "basic" measurements, plus any places that you start out particularly large. i.e. if you have very large arms or thighs, include those measurements. In addition to bust, I also take one directly under the bust. That way you can isolate how much boob is lost vs. how much "regular" fat. I measure to the nearest 1/4 inch. These are the measurements I take (for example) and it only takes me about 2-3 minutes tops. I included how much I've lost (Jan 2018 to now) so you can see how inspiring these can be, especially when the scale is being a b!tch. Bust -14.0" Under Bust -16.0 Waist -18.0 Hip (at largest point) -16.0 Thigh (left) -8.0 Calf (left) -3.5 Ankle (left) -1.5 Neck -4.5 As you can see, my fat was spread very evenly over my whole body. (Boobs went down less because there wasn't much there to begin with 🤣 ) -

@sillykitty Too cute and summery! I'm starting to think your shoe wardrobe is a large as your dress wardrobe. Gonna start calling you Imelda!

Not only are you eating next to nothing, but your body is in major healing mode. Yes, this is normal and may take quite a while before your energy returns to normal. We're all different.

This soon after surgery I would bet that it's hormonally driven. Hormones can go completely bonkers for a few months after surgery. As always, if it becomes worrisome, speak with your doctor or his team.

Feeling cold, does it get better with time or a forever thing?
Orchids&Dragons replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I tend to eat mini meals all day long, but I have noticed that my thermostat goes up when I eat. -

looking for post op sleeve patients
Orchids&Dragons replied to Jaz A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found it very helpful to contact others having surgery at the same time as me. We were really supportive and understanding of each other and could swap war stories 😊 This is the thread for the August patients, if you're interested. -
I have a desk job and went back to work after 10 days.

And now you know! It's ok, really. This is all part of a learning experience. You were always going to be curious until you tried it out. You learned that you're going to have to depend on yourself and your choices to avoid too much sugar, that your wls isn't going to help much in that regard. This is a long-haul process. Don't beat yourself up over a bump in the road. Now you need to figure out what your triggers are and how to avoid or control them.

I have always been a protein bar for breakfast person. The thought of any other thing that early makes me gag. I love the Pure Protein Deluxe Chocolate, very satisfying. Also, I like Built Bars. They're 110 cal, 15g of protein and amazing flavor choices. The texture is quite "marshmallowy" so it's odd at first. I like them out of the fridge which firms them up.
