While you're googling, check the survival rates for obese people who don't have surgery. It might give you a better perspective. That being said, it is major surgery and it would be foolish to take it lightly. Ask lots of questions in the forums, there are plenty of people who are willing to help you out.

Congrats on finishing "Phase 1"! Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Before surgery, I alternated Tylenol/Advil every 2 hours for back pain. When I woke up from surgery, my incisions were fine but I was in full-on back spasms. The doctor had to give me pain meds for that, not the surgery. My doctor put me on Celebrex at my 6-week checkup, just at night to sleep. He has me take it at the same time as my PPI to protect my stomach a bit. During the day, I sit with my back on a heating pad most of the day and just take Tylenol. This is definitely a conversation to have with your doctor.

Man, all these things look so tempting! I can't wait until I can eat them!

I haven't even thought that far ahead. Good luck in your search. I was only a C at my highest weight, so I'll probably be looking at training bras when I'm done. (A cup - extra long!)

I poached some tilapia the other night and was able to eat about an ounce and a half. My husband turned my leftovers into a fish taco. I might be able to eat a bit of rotisserie chicken, thanks for the suggestion!

I did manage to eat 1/4 (maybe) of a chicken leg the other night. We cooked it wrapped in foil so that it stayed extra moist. And, of course, I cut it into about 10 pieces! If there's any hint of stringiness, it just gets stuck in my stomach for hours. So jerky is definitely on my back burner for now. (But I do love it!)

I'll have to decide if jerky is worth a 25 mile trip! That's the closest Trader Joe's. But jerky is a good idea, at least once I can tolerate meat.
