And on the upside, you probably won't get stretch marks when you do! -
Dallas Methodist Hospital has one. Contact MistyStroud-Martinez@mhd.com

I'm down 47# since mid-February, so I'm thrilled. Still can only eat minuscule (.5 oz) portions of solid proteins (like chicken) but tolerating everything else ok. I've been exhausted for the last month and for the last week had dizzy spells, so the doctor has sent me back to the cardiologist that I saw before surgery. He thinks my blood pressure is maybe too low. I'll see the cardiologist tomorrow and see what he thinks. So far, no-one who didn't know I had surgery has commented on my weight loss, either, but I'll assume that they don't want to go where angels fear to tread!

So happy to hear that! Good luck!

Anyone stay on shakes for meal times longer than first couple weeks?
Orchids&Dragons replied to GansettRam74's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Honestly, since I'm hardly eating any "real food" I've got to be chock full of chemicals. Between protein shakes, protein water, sugar-free non-fat yogurt, Crystal Light, turkey bacon, light mayo, high protein snacks, etc. I'm not sure that I'm actually eating "healthier" at all -
You are amazing! Thanks for sharing the inspirational pics!

Prayers that your husband's surgery goes smoothly and for his speedy recovery! -
off program and gained back 21 pounds
Orchids&Dragons replied to msjg46's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't experienced this after surgery, but from all the diets I back-slid on: Go back to tracking every bite of food that goes into your mouth. If you've stopped, get back on the 30-30-30 plan. Don't eat within 3 hours of bedtime. No alcohol. Always get your protein in first. Don't despair. Your "tool" is still in place. You can recover from this! -
And that's how he wants you to feel. Like you can't do any better. You can! Don't settle for someone who's not happy about the positive steps you're taking with your life!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery! -
It's been several days, has the situation resolved?

If we were perfect, we wouldn't be here in the first place. Just dust yourself off and start again. Throwing up is a lesson. You either ate too much or too fast. You're new body is just much more efficient at telling you to pay attention than your old one was. It'll be ok.

Some Advice Please!
Orchids&Dragons replied to Kay07's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope your husband's surgery and recovery go well. I'd recommend speaking with your surgeon as soon as possible. I feel like is experience would be invaluable here. Because, really, how other people healed is totally irrelevant. It's not about the average recuperation time, but yours specifically. While there are lots of smooth-sailing success stories, there are also a few nightmares posted on the boards, as well. I wish you the best, but until the surgery, you just won't know. Hugs. -
Almost 60 and getting sleeve on 4/24/18

Glad to hear you're doing so well! -
I keep reading about you guys with all the energy and enthusiasm, but I just don't get it. I am exhausted. I'm normally a morning person and I can hardly drag myself out of bed. I have trouble focusing at work and start thinking about going to bed at 8:30. I'm just wiped out. I'm forcing myself to exercise (not as much as the doc would like) but otherwise, I have no desire to do anything. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! p.s. I get 70-80g of protein a day and over 100 oz of water.

My thyroid was checked before surgery, but I'll make sure they check it again at my 3-month checkup. Thanks! -

Thanks, Sillykitty, but I've been taking B12 for nearly a year already. So, not that. I appreciate your suggestion! Not a coffee drinker, so that's not it either. I'm also much more salty than sweet. I wonder if it can be from plummeting sodium levels? Just kidding. Thanks for responding! -

Yeah, but I'm still quite a way from that. Sometimes I can't eat a full ounce, but at most about 1.25 ounces. Baby steps . . . -
How about the gator thinking you're too small to bother with?

Yes, I totally agree about the "not much point". We don't want to shut ourselves off from our friends' and families' celebrations just because food is a major part. We can still share their joy without stuffing ourselves.
