The Six Month March

I put on music and "dance" a bit while I'm working, especially when I'm in early and no-one else is at work. '64 - yep, that's my hubby, too. -

30-30-30 No drinking before meals for 30 minutes, during meal, or 30 minutes after meal Processed foods; frozen dinners, deli meats, canned foods. These tend to be high in fat and preservatives -
Some people lose weight steadily, but for more than half (I think) it comes in fits and starts. Unfortunately, we don't get to choose which one our bodies will follow. The steady losers hardly ever see big drops, where the "irregular" losers might drop 5 in one week. So long as you follow your program, just have faith that the numbers will follow.

#1 - Don't waste time beating up on yourself. You have MAINTAINED a loss of 111 pounds. #2 - Get back to basics, log all your food, measure your water, 30-30-30, protein then veggies, then fruit, then carbs #3 - Take a break from processed foods and watch things that trigger you to overeat. For me, carbs make me crave more (and stupider choice) carbs. But you know what sets you off. #4 - No alcohol or sweet drinks It's really about getting back to what worked in the first place. I'm no expert on getting back on the wagon after surgery, but I've failed enough diet plans over the last 45 years to know what the reset button looks like. And, definitely, ask for support when you need it! -

Oh, my, that sounds awful. 8 months out and you can hardly eat. I'm so sorry. I hope you find something that helps soon.

I think 90% is a bit generous. You've still got all the work of planning your healthy meals and keeping the craving monsters in check. For me, it's more like a 50-50 partnership

Can the headache be from caffeine withdrawal? That's a bear if you haven't weaned yourself off caffeine already. -

very little weight loss

25 pounds in a month is great! We're all unique and have absolutely no control over how our body/metabolism reacts to surgery and the new way of eating. At this point, we're just along for the ride. So long as we follow the rules, the scale will move. Have faith -

Yes, it seems like you're on the slow end of losing, but it doesn't happen at a steady pace. You might break into super-loser mode any time. Had you lost a lot on the pre-diet? It could just be your body adjusting. At least you're not stalled. btw, you are doing extraordinarily well on the foods you can eat already. I can still only eat about 2 ounces of chicken salad at a meal, and was still on scrambled eggs and soup at 3 weeks. So, I guess you have to take the good with the bad. -

Are you sensitive to the artificial sweeteners? Maybe you could try another brand. Hope you feel better. -

I think maybe you're not getting as much protein as you think. 25g of chicken salad does not have 25g of protein - more like 4. And 25g of taco meat has about 5g of protein. I think you're starving yourself. I just googled "nutrition information" to get those values. -
Need some support from people who have had the sleeve
Orchids&Dragons replied to TreeMystic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Tell whomever you want and don't worry about the rest. They'll figure it out eventually! 9 weeks out, I've experienced a slower recovery than others, but still no regrets. If I hadn't done this, I'd probably close in on 300# in the next year or two. The dream of being around 150 instead of 300 makes it all worthwhile. Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery!
