    Interesting article

I doubt she thought that far ahead. I just think her perception of fat people is that they're either stupid or lazy and she assumed that everyone else feels that way, too. Although Mrs. Weasley was awesome and chubby and Harry loved her dearly!

    Food

Thanks, Frustr8, but mine doesn't hurt that bad. An ache, almost hot feeling, not sharp pain. I've never had gallbladder issues, but my husband did. I already don't eat any of the foods you mentioned. What is sucralfate?

And what does a person do about gastritis? I'm still on PPIs 2x/day because I only lasted 4 hours when I stopped them

    Food

I'm so jealous! My taste hasn't changed, I still LOVE spicy. But it hurts in my stomach, a burning ache. Hope that goes away soon!

TMI - liquid diet side affects?

Is this your pre-op diet? It seems like you may be lactose intolerant and can't handle the shakes. You might try plant-based protein powders and see if you do better. Hope you figure it out.

Congrats, hope your recovery goes smoothly!

    Preparation

It is huge! Sometimes on these boards you read comments from people who just don't get it, never got it. They really struggle because they were totally unprepared for how hard it could be. Sure, some people have a relatively easy-breezy time, but for most of us, it is really hard work. That's why most surgeons require meetings with a therapist before surgery and encourage you to continue after.

Only lost 4.2 pounds one week post op, normal?

This is fine. You're still full of fluids from the hospital plus swelling! It will go down.

    Interesting article

According to an earlier poster @mamamc32, there is a set-up like you describe. Although, it might possibly have been set up after the author of the article was there.

    Interesting article

On the other side, if the author's main concern that JK Rowling wasn't very fat-friendly. I'm amazed that it took her so long to figure that out. Doesn't seem like her reading comprehension is all that great. Don't get me wrong - I love the books and have read the entire series multiple times, but "fat-friendly"? No.

    Interesting article

Sorry, I can't get behind this at all. There are things I have been unable to do because of my size and I have experienced the embarrassment of having to get an extender on an airplane but her premise is garbage. Seats (in anything except maybe a bus) cannot be designed for all body sizes. She apparently never noticed the "You must be this _______ tall to ride" signs? They're not discriminating against the very short, it is for safety. The restraints will not keep them secure. I guarantee that on those rides that go over the shoulders, there are people who are too tall, as well. Weight is another of those issues. If you make the restraints large enough for someone who is 350 pounds, how are they going to work on an 8-year-old? Then what do you do when a 450 pound person complains? Would the author have been happy if they'd let her ride because she bullied them into it and then the restraint failed during the ride? Additionally, all the forces that determine whether the car will stay on the tracks, whether the wheels will pop off, whether welds will hold, etc. are based on a presumed range of weight limits and the amount of rotational force that weight will generate. This has nothing to do with being invisible, just physics. As she is a writer, I presume she has never had to run a business or she'd realize that you can't EVER please everyone. Businesses want customers to be happy, but they'd forever be running in circles trying to accommodate everyone. Signed, a former design engineer

    Non Scale Victories

I can "skip" down the stairs, rather than slowly ease my sore legs from one down to the next!

    Non Scale Victories

Sadly, for me apparently, the tummy will be the last to go. For you, sounds like it will be the backside. (I never had one of those. Whole family suffers from noassatall disease!) They will eventually get smaller, but not until all the other areas go first.

    The Six Month March

I wish you much success. If you haven't trashed your metabolism with a million prior weight-loss attempts, you have a really good chance of accomplishing this without surgery. Kudos to you if you can! We can't wait to hear your next update!

    moving goal posts LOL

My 6'1 hubby only weighs around 170 (77kg) so I've still got a way to go before I get there, and he'll probably drop another 5-6 before then! Congrats on making your first goal!
