    MattyMatt...are you out there?

When it comes to positivity, sometimes it's your turn to give, sometimes it's your turn to receive. We're all sending our positive thoughts your way.

So sorry to hear that. Sending positive thoughts your way.

    Sweetners

Foods that pretty much turn to liquid in your stomach and "slide" right through. Some are perfectly acceptable, like yogurt, others can become a real problem like milkshakes, chips (turn easily to mush) or crackers. Since they don't stay in your stomach for long, you don't get a feeling of fullness and can easily over-indulge.

TMI - liquid diet side affects?

Better to find this out now than post-op when you'd likely have ended up dehydrated! No guilt!
  7. Yes, Auntie! I'll keep it in the deep-freezer until then!
  8. Coroner? What on earth do you do for a living?
  9. Wait until you're pregnant and complete strangers walk up and rub your belly like you're a statue of Budda!

    Psychology appointment

Not so long as you don't say that this is a magic bullet that will fix all your problems and you'll never have to watch what you eat again.

    Surgery, “it’s the easy way.”

That wasn't from someone on your medical team, was it?

    I confess....2018

Sorry it's not amazing, but . . . I confess that I'm getting pretty down because I still can't eat anything but soft, bland foods. I give myself the "we all progress at different speeds" lecture at least once a day, but it bites!

    Psychology appointment

I don't think they can discriminate against fluffy psychopaths! Ok, they might not want to give them access to scalpels, so make sure they're totally out before they get to the operating room!

Mine was also just really a conversation. She inquired as to why I wanted the surgery, what I had attempted in the past, why now? Not bad.

    Protein shake meal replacement

If you're trying to simulate "full", my trick was sugar-free jello. Don't chew it well, just enough to swallow. It seems to hang out in your stomach a while and fill you up.
  18. We're going out tomorrow for my son's college graduation and an advance Mother's Day. He wants barbecue. I'm planning to get a baked potato and think I'll be all right, especially if I can get the "fixins" on the side! I'll bring the leftovers home and one of the boys can finish it up the next day. I still eat so little that it probably won't be obvious that I had any at all.

  23. I'm celebrating a good evening with my mother-in-law. She flew in from out of state for my son's college graduation tomorrow. She has a long history of being unkind and I was dreading what she would say. She hasn't seen me since before surgery and we didn't tell her about the surgery until my husband picked her up at the airport yesterday. (I only told people I thought would be supportive) I wanted him to tell her in the car to give her some time to process the information. When I got home from work she actually said that I looked great. I was shocked, but very pleased. This may not be the horrible weekend I was dreading!
  24. You look awesome! I admire how much harder you must have to work at watching your intake with all the traveling.
  25. Gotta love it! Congrats on navigating those big, fancy dinners!
