It becomes a "lesser of 2 evils" thing. In my case, the cardiologist thinks there is fluid around my lungs and it needs to be reduced. The surgeon said the diuretics are fine so long as I continue to drink plenty of liquid, which has never been an issue for me.

I need some recommendations for high-protein snacks. Crispy/crunchies in particular. What are your faves? Thanks in advance!

30 minutes before and after

My understanding is that this is forever. Otherwise foods wash out of your stomach quickly, allowing you to overeat and not feel full. -
30 minutes before and after
Orchids&Dragons replied to browneyez42's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually put something (a napkin, notebook, whatever) over my drink so that I don't accidentally grab it out of habit. Then, I set the timer on my phone. I don't like it, but I do it. -

Celebrex and gastric sleeve
Orchids&Dragons replied to Kymiep's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I took it for a little while. My surgeon had me take it the same time as a PPI to protect my stomach. Sorry yours is bothering you. Hope it heals better fast! p.s. I stopped the Celebrex after a few weeks because it wasn't helping me sleep better (back pain) -

I had bought some jeans the last time I lost weight. They didn't quite fit then, I figured 5 more pounds or so. Then that never happened and I gained 40. But they fit now!!!! -

2 questions - sweating and burping
Orchids&Dragons replied to kt12883's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I swear, the worst thing they could do was to tell me to drink more slowly. It made me think about it all the time and the more I thought about it, the worse I got about swallowing air! Like I haven't been swallowing my whole life! Thinking about it made it so challenging! -

When "Family" doesn't understand
Orchids&Dragons replied to Ernie D's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm so sorry that this is so difficult for you. It's not easy under the best of circumstances. My prior experience is telling me that whatever problem you're having, he can play his trump card (mental issues) and make it all about his needs again. Is there anyone else close by that you can turn to for support? Are there support group meetings, a pastor at church? A friendly ear on-line is fine, but sometimes you just need a real-life hug. I hope it gets better for you soon. ((hug)) -

Not particularly comfortable, but ice packs for 10-15 minutes at a time might help with the inflammation, too. -

Can you take benadryl? It may help. -
We must be kindred spirits. I'm on lasix now. They're hoping I'll go down around 30 pounds, total. Glad it worked for you!

I just keep a heating pad on my back at work. Unfortunately, my surgery was 3 months ago now.

So sorry that you're going through this. I hope they figure out the problem and fix it soon. Congrats on your weight loss so far. You're definitely doing this the "hard" way, though. ((hugs)) -
Maybe you're just retaining fluids.

Congrats on your super recovery! Just curious, I know a stone is 14lb. But how do you do the fractional stones? i.e. is it 14.4 stone or 14 stone, 3 pounds, 14 stone, 8 pebbles? (Just kidding) -
2 questions - sweating and burping
Orchids&Dragons replied to kt12883's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't know about the sweating, so I can't help you there. The bubbling/gurgling is normal. Your stomach is very swollen so there's very little room for the liquid to go through to your intestines and it trickles down slowly. You can try drinking slower, but it may not help. Burp if you can (I can't) and just tolerate it until the swelling goes down. -
