Backup birth control/using a second type?

OK, found a use for all the statistics I took in college (6 classes) Odds of pregnancy using stated odds = (1-.91) x (1-.85) = .0135 or 1.35%, so 98.65% effective. But are you going to be happy if you're part of the 1.35% just because the numbers worked for you? Personally, I was ultra cautious. My husband and I used 2 methods a lot of the time if we really wanted to make sure we didn't get pregnant.

    Are you “less sweaty”?

It has been an unexpected treat

    How am I gaining weight?!

It's not uncommon for people to develop a sensitivity to whey after surgery. The pea protein seems like a good way to determine if the protein is causing it. Your surgeon's office sounds extremely unhelpful. Eleven days of diarrhea should be cause for concern. Hope you feel better.

    Two Weeks Post Op-Oh My

Don't worry about losing weight yet! You may still be full of the fluids they pumped into you in the hospital and your belly is still very swollen! It will happen!

    One month regression?

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but this is one of those "time to call the surgeon" moments. Hope it's nothing major.

Welcome, Kimber! You'll find quite a few people who have had or are planning sleeve-to-RNY revision surgeries. Hopefully you'll click with some folks following your same path!
  8. If my husband had stayed the 2 days I was in the hospital, I would have gone mad. He's a "hoverer". I don't like to be the "hoveree". He was at the hospital until I got put in a room, then I sent him home to sleep. The next day I told him to go to work and I would call him when they were filling out my discharge papers. I think it's whatever makes the patient feel best and we are all soooo very different!

    That was me before surgery!

    Are you “less sweaty”?

OMGosh, yes! In fact, I'm chilly most of the time now. Even when my car is sitting in the sun, I hardly feel hot when I get in! Note: I live in Texas!
  12. Wow, amazing transformation! Thanks for sharing!

    February 2018 Success Stories

Yes, mine started at about 10 weeks. My co-workers have permission to pick stray hairs off my clothes without asking Thank heavens, I've got enough hair for several people, so I'm good if it doesn't last too long! My stylist normally thins my hair every time she cuts it, so she stopped doing that for now. I'm taking Biotin as well.

    3 days post-op and...,,

Almost everyone experiences this. Food is a big part of our lives or we wouldn't be here in the first place. Surgery will not fix your head or change the relationship you have with food. In that sense, the surgery is the "easy" part of the journey. The hard part is developing new coping skills and healthier habits. Use the honeymoon period after your surgery to really focus on those issues so that when hunger returns, you have a system in place. Understand, some people don't get the honeymoon period. For whatever reason, they remain hungry after surgery. Even so, their new tool restricts the amount of food that they can eat and they still have to ensure that they're filling their tiny tummy with healthy options. One rule of thumb that I learned from another poster: When you're hungry, figure out whether you're hungry for something specific, (especially if you've just seen a mouth-watering burger commercial on tv) or just generally hungry and a healthy choice will satisfy. If you're craving one specific food, it's probably head hunger and you need to try and distract yourself. If it's general, then you probably are hungry and need some nutrition in you. Personally, I'm seeing a therapist for a while to help me work on my food issues. I've got too much invested in this process to fail and I want to give it my best shot.

I didn't mind it. It's no margarita, but not awful.

    Staples or stitches

I've also had great success with staples in the past

    Staples or stitches

My hubby had his gall bladder out a few months before my surgery. We're thinking of flashing our tummies to the grandkids (when we have some) and telling them that we were involved in a shoot-out with the mob!

Welcome! This is a very supportive and friendly community and I'm sure you'll receive a lot of great information. You may want to do a search for "band" to find people with your specific surgery. That isn't done nearly as often now. However, most of the advice is relevant whatever surgery you have done.
