You've lost 24 lbs. in a month, girl! Celebrate, don't worry! Your body may just be getting used to the changes and taking a little break. Also, scales are notoriously inconsistent. They're great for showing a trend, but not so much within the 1 pound range. That being said, 1 pound could be extra fluid, it could be a poop, anything. Don't stress, it will probably be gone tomorrow. If you're not cheating on your plan, you will lose.

REGAIN! I feel out of control and I need help and advice, please no judgement.

I think I'd say that I've struggled with emotional and physical issues due to a sexual assault and a brain injury and need their help getting back on track. That should give them enough information from the start to know that this isn't about munching out of boredom or whatever. You need real, professional advice and they should be a first-line resource for you. I wouldn't go into a lot of detail until I see them in person, but I'd want them to understand that you have some pretty significant challenges. -
Yes, that sounds like it would be difficult. I'm the opposite, other than liquids/purees, I'm lucky to get to an ounce and a half. My protein minimum is 75g and it's a good day if I can get half from real foods. The rest is all supplements.

You can eat roast beef 3 weeks post-op? Wow, good for you! I couldn't even do eggs at that point.

Forced malabsorption

I'm following this - I don't eat dense protein so I have no idea how long it might linger in my body. I sure don't want my constipation to get any worse. Didn't know that Stevia can move things along. -
Just keep talking to folks here. They definitely get you. It does get better!

First off, congrats on your surgery and hope you are healing well. A certain amount of depression/buyer's remorse is very common with life-changing events, and a bypass certainly qualifies. It might help to know how many of us wish we had had surgery earlier in our lives. You should certainly be able to have children. In fact, after weight loss you should have less trouble conceiving than an obese woman at the same age. You are less likely to have issues with gestational diabetes and your baby is more likely to be born at a normal weight. By the time you reach maintenance, you will be able to consume sufficient calories to support a healthy pregnancy. And when your toddler runs, you can run, too! The first month is hard, no two ways about it. But in the grand scheme of your life, this will just be a challenging chapter. The one right before all the good stuff starts! Best wishes!

How bad is Gerd after Sleeve?
Orchids&Dragons replied to Bariatricguy03's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We're very similar, except I never had issues before the surgery. I could eat virtually anything and my stomach was fine. I am 4 months post-op. Now the acid churns whenever I eat anything. Some days my voice is hoarse by 10am. I used to love spicy foods. Now they burn all the way down because my esophagus is irritated. I am now on prescription Prilosec 2x/day plus Tums as needed. My surgeon is already considering a revision to bypass, but the insurance company wants to try to control the acid with medication for 6 months first. One thing to be aware of - when PPIs first came out, they were considered safe for long-term use. Now the recommendation is for 6 months or less. So, those of you who are on PPIs might want to research this. -

Protein Shots - 15g Protein, 60 Cal
Orchids&Dragons replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
OK, tried the final flavor last night, the cran-grape. Tasted like a grape popsicle. Not bad, but grape isn't my favorite flavor in general. However, I can down .5 oz of anything if I get 15g of Protein out of it! Hope this helps others! -

Congrats on your surgery and best wishes for a quick recovery. How are you doing on your fluid intake? Right now, that is far more important than protein. Protein waters are easier to get down than the shakes, imo. They're still quite sweet, like koolaid or gatorade. I water mine down some. -
That's so sweet, Lisalou! Hoping that this do-over works great for you!

Protein Shots - 15g Protein, 60 Cal
Orchids&Dragons replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I promise I'm not being paid to promote them! Just when you find something that works, you've got to share! Because, again, it is 6:30 pm and I've only had 46 g of protein out of my 75g minimum. UGH! -

Cheez its, my little snack
Orchids&Dragons replied to apositivelife4me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, and thank heavens they come in 2 oz bags! But really, I'd rather have Cheezits I know they're crap but I love 'em anyway. Especially the new overbaked ones. They're the "bad boy" I want to have a fling with! -

Jess, I think we have the same cheat DNA! Cheezits cannot come in my house! You're right, there ain't much that tastes better to me, either! -
What Gadgets to buy before VSG
Orchids&Dragons replied to KOLongTermWin's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Good luck with your journey! I'd recommend a good food scale - one that can do both oz. and grams. I'm thinking of getting a second one for work. Measuring cups both for dry foods and liquids. (Dry food measures look like the big dipper and measurement is to the rim. Liquid measures have a spout and oz. marked up the side. You can actually get these at the dollar store.) Measuring spoons. 4 oz. Tupperware containers. Mine are marked at 2 oz and 4oz, so very helpful for preparing lunches. The ones I got come in an 8-pack at the grocery store and are freezer/microwave safe. -
Thanks, something to think about. I just noticed your weight loss total - CONGRATS! That is awesome, although it was really unkind of the scale to hold back that last .10!
-
For a 20 oz. Protein water, would you separate it into 5, 4-oz "servings"? I just drink the whole thing down. But, I guess, that would flush the first 16 oz. out of my stomach.

Protein Shots - 15g Protein, 60 Cal
Orchids&Dragons replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Update: I was really short on protein yesterday so I had 2 of the shots yesterday evening. Pink Lemonade - it was all right. Not nasty or anything, but not awesome, either. Orange - do you like Creamsicles? YUM! -
