I ate like a normal person yesterday!!!
I was at an all-day training where they provided breakfast and lunch. Since I didn't know what they would be serving, I packed my little cooler with a protein bar, yogurt and a fruit cup. I didn't need it, woohoo! One of the breakfast options was a yogurt parfait and at the lunch buffet they had (in addition to a bunch of stuff I couldn't eat) salmon patties, a squash medley, and orzo. They had fruit cups for the afternoon snack! I was so excited to eat what other people ate! I admit, I did eat some sweets, too. But overall, what a good day!

Low fat salad dressing that tastes GOOD

These look good, but I haven't tried them (I can't eat greens yet) https://www.skinnytaste.com/basil-green-goddess-dressing https://www.target.com/p/kraft-light-thousand-island-salad-dressing-16oz/-/A-12946100?sid=1339S&ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&CPNG=PLA_Grocery%2BEssentials%2BShopping_Local&adgroup=SC_Grocery&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=c&location=9027201&gclid=Cj0KCQjw77TbBRDtARIsAC4l83kNC5_L6Msk-yd4L9JKBOFMPpfyK1iEOouk2YgAeG6EIQbx3rYPUSsaAqIfEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds http://www.shopfoodex.com/kraft-free-thousand-island-salad-dressing-p-22003.html?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Merchant%2BCenter&utm_campaign=Feed&gclid=Cj0KCQjw77TbBRDtARIsAC4l83l6lMCja9UO4Dr1aH3EhtQx6OEe4JF3sgEOWl-2UX9IBpIVmm_bXsUaAvZZEALw_wcB -

The Six Month March

I wish you the best. I do believe this surgery should be the last resort, after everything else has failed. Since you still have options, I totally understand your decision. Good luck and God bless! -
Reconsidering Goal Weight
Orchids&Dragons replied to sillykitty's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm already thinking that I may have to "adjust" my goal weight. I chose the weight that I was my adult "healthiest". But at that point (late 20s) I was much more muscular. So I think it may be realistic to go lower. I'll just have to wait and see. But I'm still over 40 pounds from my goal, so no rush. -

I was actually surprised that percentage-wise, both genders lost the same amount. I didn't see that coming. -

I really like this one. It's not bariatric, but has loads of healthy choices and provides the nutritional information! https://recipes.sparkpeople.com/ -

Thank you. By nature I much prefer fruits/veggies to meat so this kind of diet really appeals to me. And it's much less to think about!

Off topic - but - Yours is the first post I've seen of anyone relying totally on protein drinks for their protein. May I ask why? I was afraid that I was depending too heavily on supplements, but you seem to be doing fine.

I started vitamins before surgery. You don't want to start off deficient and then maybe not be able to take any for a while to due nausea. Good luck! -
That's really interesting. Thank you for sharing!

I'm an accountant. I took off one week, worked one week of 1/2 days and then back to full time. Problem is, how fast you heal varies for everyone. Good luck with your surgery! -
Wow, amazing transformation. Glad that you're feeling so good, too! Did you lose all that weight since the surgery? p.s. Love the photo filter!

Lactose intolerance post surgery is not uncommon. Do you have lactose-free milk available? Or almond or coconut milk? They don't have as much protein, but you could add a protein supplement to them. -
Serving Sizes Post Surgery
Orchids&Dragons replied to MissLindseyR's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
That sounds about right (size-wise) for someone 1 month post-op. Although we were told to eat mostly protein, plus maybe 1-2 broccoli florets to make up the 1/4 cup. Not half and half. -

why do i weigh more post op??
Orchids&Dragons replied to on my way to a new me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yup, fluid retention and swelling. You drop the fluids fairly quickly once you leave the hospital, but the abdominal swelling can take as long as a month. Relax, it's all good. And congrats on your surgery!
