If I only logged the numbers, by the time I got to the end of the day I'd probably forget something. Plus, if for instance, I made a soup and calculated a serving to be 118 calories and 5g protein, I have that for reference when I pull it out of the freezer later. Also, if you start to struggle and want to talk to your NUT, he/she will want to see the whole log, not just a list of numbers.

Yes, the gas and fluids in your stomach are trying to squeeze through the little openings left because of the swelling. As the swelling goes down, this quiets down a lot. It probably won't go away totally, but it does improve.

When my husband and I met, we were working for the same company. Before we started dating, he had seen me lose around 30 pounds. I got down to about 150. He was 6'1", 145 pounds. When we started dating, he had said how impressed he was that I had lost the weight and how he hadn't "noticed" me before that. (Yeah, I knew how to interpret that one.) At that point, we had maybe been going out for a few weeks. I told him then that if my weight was a big deal to him, he needed to move along right now. I couldn't promise that I would never regain the weight. He decided to stay. In the 29 years that we've been married, I've gained and lost hundreds of pounds. He has always been there for me, regardless. He's my biggest cheerleader now. I am blessed.

OK, I'm curious. Are you part vampire? You do all your eating at night?

How long ago was your surgery? If you've just started on soft foods, two eggs was probably way too much.

There's no magic window. It can develop months or even years later. My reflux started immediately. I'm on prescription omeprazole 2x/day, and TUMS as needed. Surgeon will decide before the end of the year if I need a revision to bypass.

Try a TUMS, if it helps with the hunger, you have acid issues. I pop several TUMs a day to stave off "hunger". I usually find that I'm not really hungry.

Very few of us who've had wls surgery can do the big hair thing! We're lucky to have any hair!

Thank heavens we don't have those at our house now that the kids are grown! We used to buy the huge cardboard carton of those at Sam's. Portion control? We don't need no stinkin' portion control!

An upper GI following surgery to see if there are any leaks. If your surgeon orders one, you can't drink anything after surgery until the test is done.
