    April Bypass Updates?!

bypass on 4/16 hw 323 sw 310 cw 275 i hit a week and a half stall every 3 weeks. Losing about 6 to 8 lbs that week after the stall breaks each time. I was awfully discouraged at first...thinking most people have lost more than 35 lbs in 2 and a half months....but i am getting used to how i am losing....stall...lose...stall ....lose. I am literally able to eat anything...i just cant eat alot. and obviously chose not to eat carbs...sugars ect....( not gonna lie...i have slipped a few times...but have slapped some since into myself I have hit my first goal of 275. now my next small goal is 250. Wish me luck!

    very little weight loss

i lost 15 lbs prey op...so i am at 25 all together. And yes, my surgeon said i was doing extremely well too with the foods i am able to eat. HE said that it was fine...but in the back of my mind it worries me....( not surgery wise, but weight loss wise)

    very little weight loss

im sorry, i didn't explain very well, i meant i was getting 25g of protien with chicken salad and 25 grams with turkey taco meat. So during the day i am usually getting about 75grams of protien all together. I drink 70 ounces of water ( usually) ....but have only lost 10 lbs..... ( which im glad i lost it) but it seems like i should have lost more in three weeks....right?

    very little weight loss

i am having a shake for breakfast ( 25 g) and for lunch i am having 25g ( tuna or chicken salad) and for supper ground turkey taco meat ( 25 g) ...so i am getting 75 grams everyday....sometimes 80 if i slide in a bite or 2 more.

  10. Am i the only one who has only lost 10 lbs since surgery? I am 3 weeks out and have only lost 10 lbs....i only eat protien...3 times a day as my NUT suggested....i feel like i should have lost like 20 by now? i know the scales are just a number...but what am i doing wrong? I already eat any protien as long as i chew it up enough....but i dont eat too much... any tips? ideas? am i going to be the one that this doesn't work for?

What to bring to the operation?

honestly, all i brought was the clothes i wore there( just put them back on to leave making sure they were stretchy/comfy clothes), my phone and a charger, and my insurance cards that my husband kept in his wallet. The more you bring, the more you have to keep up with. Its only one night, there isn't alot you could possibly need Good luck to you!

    Going back to work?

i am two weeks post op and today is my first day back. I also sit at a desk doing patient registration at a hospital, so no heavy lifting for me either. Honestly i could have gone back on day 4 post op, but it was nice to get a break and get on a routine with my vits, protien, water, ect.
  13. So, today is my 2 weeks post op. I am feeling absolutely amazing! I had a little pain and discomfort for about the 1st three days, but on day four i was even sleeping on my side and stomach. I have lost 25 lbs so far....and can kind of tell in my shirts. Ill probably have to lose about 50 before i can really tell since i was so heavy to begin with. I am concerned that i am able to eat too much. At first was was literally only able to eat two spoons of broth. But as i progressed to soft foods, i have found that eating slowly, i am able to eat about 1/2 to 1 full cup of food before i can tell that i am full. My surgeon said that its because my stomach and brain arnt communicating yet and that i need to stop at 1.2 cup. i think i really need to work on that because one of the reason i got so big was because i didn't want to stop until i was full. I am doing great on my water and protein and vits. I do get hiccups every time i eat. ( The dr said that this was my sign that i have had enough or even too much.) How is everyone else doing on week 2 post op? what is your diet? I can pretty much eat anything as long as i chew it up very very well. ( Other than breads, pastas...pastries...ect) in a moment of weakness...i tried a small bite of noodles ( threw it up) , tried 4 chips ( threw them up) ...i know i need to be stronger and am working on it for sure. Since those episodes, i haven't even WANTED those things. Honestly, i dont really have any other cravings yet....which is a good thing!

    afraid i'll feel hungry

the reason i am so big now ( pre surgery) is because i CANNOT say no when i feel hungry....am i the only one with this problem? im so afraid i will feel hungry and fail myself.
  15. I am on day 4 of my preop diet. I am currently starving to death! I am afraid that i will have this feeling after surgery...i guess because of all of the food restrictions.... Thoughts? Do you feel hungry? How did you get past it?
