Chronic Nausea--No Medical Reason
Starfish23 replied to Arizona25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are not alone. I feel like I’m reading g my story. I’m on week 3. Was ok until a couple days ago. Nothing... I mean nothing goes down. I ate a half of spoon of baby cereal and that started the ball rolling. It feels stuck. My stomach is foaming like a rabid dog and I am throwing up foam like crazy. I haven’t eaten in a few days and I can’t even drink. I am all Foam. It’s disgusting. I’m calling the dr today. Let’s stay in touch bcus I’m feel scared and alone. I really wish they would tell you what might happen so when it do so we are not freaking out! -

Yogurt causing gas...good or bad?
Starfish23 replied to Pink nova's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pink Nova, same thing happens here. I feel like I’m always gurgling and when I eat it gets louder. I also have gas. Upper body though, in my back. I did hear that sometimes with these surgery’s we can develop lactose intolerance for a while so maybe that’s what’s happening -
Yogurt causing gas...good or bad?

Just had bypass Tuesday and can’t seem to get the upper body gas pains to calm down. Hurts to breath at times. Has anyone taken Gasx or the like this early one? I’m afraid to eat anything -
C section mommies
Starfish23 replied to DVontesmommy1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had revision from sleeve to bypass on Tuesday. I came home yesterday and the pain is minimal. They sent me home with prescription for pain but haven’t needed it. It’s in comfortable due to bloating but it’s tolerable. I had a c-section as well and this is easier I think. But keep in mind everyone is differently. Good luck to you! -
Congrats! Same here! Enjoying my jello waiting for Dr discharge orders. Good luck!

Revision from sleeve to bypass question
Starfish23 posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Had sleeve in 2015 and my GERD got horrible and also developed hernia. Going for revision to bypass tomorrow. For those who had this revision from sleeve to bypass, what do i expect after surgery? Is it a harder recovery? -
I had same thing. Only way to make that stop is to have the bypass bcus the dr told me the area of the stomach that makes the acid is in the lower area and it would have to be removed. I’m having my surgery tomorrow! I can’t wait. I couldnt live like that. It was getting increasingly worse and the long term results are worse. Good luck to you

How long did you stay in hospital? Just overnight? They told me sometimes 2 nights. -
Liquid diet alternatives
Starfish23 replied to Starfish23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have tried Premier and a protein powder from GNC which I just gave to my brother. I was ok with muscle milk for a bit but now that is bothering me too. I will try to mix with coffee like you do. That should get me through the week before and I did see soups on the Bari store approved for Pre surgery. Thanks! -
Hi all. I am a week away from liquid diet and my surgery is the 29th. I bought the baritrack powered and it does not agree with me. I get bad stomach ache. Is there something other than the shakes that I can have for the week? I there a soup or anything? Has anyone else had this happen?

TMI - liquid diet side affects?
Starfish23 replied to Pink nova's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just posted that the same was happening to me. I will be calling my Dr. I was discouraged because this is not good and I was worried that they would push me off! There was emphasis on liquid diet to shrink the liver . Glad there is an alternative. So relieved! -
Hey all.. new to this app. Love it and all the support I see! I am on the fence and looking to see if anyone has had a revision from sleeve to bypass? Since my sleeve I have developed the worst heartburn. I had it before but not to this extent. My doctor didn’t tell me that the sleeve will make your gerd worse. It’s to the point that I eat only what doesn’t hurt. In addition to that I can’t eat anything with flour. Horrible stomach ache. I’ve been allergy tested for gluten bcus I was SURE that’s what is was but turns out I’m not. So I know enough to stay away from carbs.. bread, rice and anything with flour. Thank goodness for gluten free crackers. They are my staple. Doctor says the revision make the heartburn and pain and will repair the hernia that developed from the first surgery. I guess I just don’t know anyone who has done the bypass and if they have any complications. I’ve heard dumping could be really bad. What are the big differences in foods with the sleeve vs bypass. I heard you can’t have anything with sugar.... I’m thinking of my coffee creamer ( which i allow myself) which is not sugar free.... fruits, honey, oatmeal .... would appreciate any feedback or insight.

Revision to bypass
Starfish23 replied to Starfish23's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi there! So as far as protein powders, I haven’t found one that I really like. But I do buy my son Muscle Milk because he’s always on the run with sports and I never really thought about it for me. I tried it and I really like it. I add a piece of banana and some peanut butter and ice and throw it on my nutribullet and it really is good! The best part is it’s pre-mixed already! I hope you have that in Canada. -
Since my 2015 sleeve, I have developed severe Gerd and also have a hernia so I’m converting to a bypass in June. I went to the pulmonary dr the other day and did a battery of breathing tests and said I nailed them very close to 100%. I’m thrilled since I quit smoking 20 years ago and he said no sign of lung damage at all. Next thing I know I have to come back to pick up a machine for a sleep study? I don’t understand why. I feel like that are tacking on extras. I never had this before. I asked why and he said it’s because your going under anesthesia. Not to argue with him but I said I just had a hysterectomy less that a year ago and that was 5 hours under. No sleep study......This is a 1/2 hr at most. What’s your experience?

I found it very hard to eat meat also unless it was very juicy..: rotisserie chicken is awesome though. It’s Soft and juicy and goes down and stays down. I count on that a lot in salads or just as dinner -

I agree ... keep it private. Especially in that line of work. If they ask just say your eating less and working out more. The end. They don’t need to know.

I was at the nutritionist today and was adamant about vitamins. I told her I was taking chewables and she recommended Baritrack vitamin. She gave me a sample and It’s like a pixie stick. Just open and pour into your mouth . It’s like eating candy and it’s delish!! I will definitely be ordering these!
