Gastric sleeve and Back pain
Bryn910 replied to Green1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have a diagnosis of bulging discs your doctor may want to refer you to an orthopedic doctor and maybe prescribe physical therapy -
4-6 weeks. I have a physically demanding job and took off 3 but I was put on light duty and got increased assistance. Discuss this with your surgeon but those with physically demanding jobs should definitely take as much as they can being it will take time to get readjusted to drinking while up on your feet/moving and eating properly while maintaining enough energy

Sleeve to Bypass
Bryn910 replied to nomorefattypatty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different. Not all foods that bother one will bother another. I had the revision 7 months ago and I am able to tolerate every food I have tried under the sun. Dairy bothers me sometimes but only straight milk. The revision for me was fine, no complications. I lost weight at a faster rate but now I have stalled for quite some weeks. But I am also working out more and weight lifting. -
Try genepro. Mix it with crystal light, water or whatever liquid you’re allowed to have. If you mix it with warm broth, mix it first with cold water and add slowly to broth. Odorless and tasteless. I still use it

Prove him wrong. surgery won’t fix your problems 100% but it’ll make you more aware of your problems maybe. When people aren’t supportive and say that surgery won’t fix the problem, just turn around and ask them “have YOU helped me fix my problem?!” Bet they won’t have much to say then WLS is the last resort for most and we go through extensive prepping so Please do not let your significant other talk you out of something that you know will help you. Much luck to you

No Pain Medications
Bryn910 replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Maybe she got Tylenol with codeine? That should be enough for some.l and many surgeons only prescribe that. I had morphine the night of but the very next day was just Tylenol with codeine. And when I went home I only took the Tylenol for 3 days and stopped all pin meds. it seems pretty unethical to just give plain Tylenol without anything unless this person had a history of substance abuse. And that nurse should be fired for discussing anything with you lol -
I am six months out and won’t have any problems. I can’t imagine doing thanksgiving 2 weeks out. Much luck to you!

Revision surgery - sleeve to bypass Need advice
Bryn910 replied to momof5cantwait's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my sleeve to bypass revision in May of this year. My weight loss has been faster and have lost more since revision than with sleeve. 82 pounds down although I lost nothing in month of October. But I have picked up weight lifting more and increased my frequency to the gym. -
Revision from sleeve to bypass
Bryn910 replied to throckmorton's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had the same issue as you. After 7 years with the sleeve, I wasn’t losing weight and lost only 20 something pounds. I developed GERD & had my bypass revision this past May. I am now the lowest I have ever been in my adult life and have about 35-40 more pounds to lose. I am almost 6 months post op and lost 82 pounds. good luck to you! -
How do you know when your full?
Bryn910 replied to Auroragirl4489's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am almost 6 months post op and I still don’t feel full. But I know when to stop. I either get bored or burp. I wish I felt full physically but I just don’t. -
Stop comparing and focus on You. You owe it to yourself. it’s hard but it’s part of the journey. Keep pushing through my friend.

Family bad-talking weightloss sugury
Bryn910 replied to Medowsweet's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Like Matt said, this could be an opportunity to educate. When we don’t speak up and attempt to educate, we remain complacent and comfortable with what the naysayers say. If you educate and they still feel that way, then all you can do is ignore or ask them not to speak about such things around you or you can walk away. you can also tell them that I had my intestines rerouted and I eat potato chips, I eat at restaurants and not once have I ever eaten baby food in my life. -
What do people do for dates that don’t involve food?
Bryn910 replied to CyndieRI's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Movies, paint night, walks, sight seeing, museums, shopping, going to gym together. Turn date nights into day dates. For my husband and I, our dates still very much revolve around food. I just eat differently. Your life doesn’t have to change, just the way you eat. Have you and your hubby take little sheets of paper, you each write down some date ideas with a percentage of them being new things you’ve never experienced. Each week, you pick a piece of paper and plan to do it that week. It’s fun! -
Can I color my hair?
Bryn910 replied to Lovingmyselfforever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes on the hair color, no on the lashes. Waking up from anesthesia you may abruptly rub your eyes without you being aware..then it’s $$ wasted if they fall out.
