Congrats

Most likely yes. Our hormones are going haywire and it takes some time to for your body to adjust

As much as we want to believe, it truly isn’t that much about exercise. It is all about diet. I wouldn’t even replace the pasta, just eliminate it completely. And watch your fruit intake because fruit is sugar. If you can, just replace one meal with a protein supplement

Eating out is a treat and when you do it, try not to over indulge. Make better/healthier choices and do not hesitate to place your order in a picky manner. You can ask for less dressing/sauces, eliminate this or that, make substitutes etc. continue to eat slow and in the beginning cut your meal into thirds or halves (depending where you are in this process) & ask for a to go container. This lessens temptation. If someone asks, just say you aren’t that hungry & you want leftovers. If you’re just going out with family, see if they’re willing to make accommodations as well, such as not ordering an appetizer, no dessert & if a restaurant offers free bread, just say no thanks if you eat out a lot, just follow these guidelines and I am sure you’ll be fine. Maybe your family or whomever you’re dining with can help hold you accountable as well

I agree with Orchards & Dragons. I would ask her to please not speak further about your personal medical business & that it isn’t her place to tell people. -
Hi & welcome! Congrats on your new journey, it’s an exciting one for sure. Hope this community can be great for you as it is for me!

Excellent! Glad to hear...or read lol

99.5 is a slight fever for an adult. I would call your doctor or go to urgent care
-
its ok to have some drainage. I had some clear fluid drain for 2 days post op. Just make sure to keep the area clean and monitor it.

Bryn910 replied to fullfiguredmonty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems normal. The largest incision is know the be more painful because that’s the one the surgeon works through. I am 8 days post op and my legs incision site is now just feeling dull congrats on your surgery and happy healing! -

Randomly being faint/dizziness

If I were you I would either go see your doctor or urgent care. Most likely you’re dehydrated and need IV fluids. This happened to me although I wasn’t dizzy, just really fatigued. If you can, check your blood pressure and heart rate; if they’re both high, you’re dehydrated -
Nauseous all the time!

I would call your doctor to ask for a different dose or different medication -
Liquid post-op diet sucks
Bryn910 replied to Kay07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in the same boat. I am 7 days post-op and my doc requires you to be on an all liquid diet for 3 weeks after surgery. Sugar free popsicles, water, protein drinks, broth & sugar free jello....for three weeks lol, ugh. -
Gotcha! Yea i assume he wants to decrease your water intake because lasix shot and the water could affect your kidneys a bit. But I don’t know too much about that
-
Docs also want to see if you have any ulcers, gastritis etc. they can find an array of things which will help in determining which surgery you have and how they perform the surgery and to treat issues prior to surgery
-
yes it can. fluid intake is vital whether you have edema or not. Edema is fluid that does not circulate, therefor doesn’t leave your body. For many, the main cause of edema is not enough fluid intake. especially if you’re on lasix, hence why the doc wants IV fluids

For me it confirmed my GERD

Is there anyone in your community that can help with your kids for a bit during the week? Do you belong to a church in which members can help you or family nearby? if not I would suggest contacting the county you live in and see what is available in terms of help. Not sure if your financial situation but maybe you and the husband can hire someone for a few hours out of the day in the morning or evening so you can workout, prepare meals etc. or maybe your 19 year old can help? Not sure if that’s the one with a mood disorder (or I am unaware of what the disorder entails). It may seem overwhelming but I think anyone can do anything they set their minds too. And I am a firm believe in it takes a village to rear children so reachin out may help. Or who knows, you may find a routine for you that works I hope you find what you are looking for, good luck

One week out and in the ER
Bryn910 replied to moondoggie1983's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry to hear about this. I hoe that it can be fixed soon so you can drink. Hopefully it isn’t anything serious. I had to get IV fluids as well today because the physician asst. said I was a bit dehydrated. Hang in there & keep us updated -
Unless your insurance has strict guidelines to not gain any weight at any time during those months I don’t see why they would deny you for that. During my time I gained 15 pounds and lost it before submitting approval and was still approved. i was approved immediately at my docs office for my rny; for my sleeve it took less than a week to be approved via mail

I have only seen them and gotten them on amazon. But some people, depending on where you live, have see them at Costco or BJ’s or Sam’s club
