    May 2018 losers bench

I will be 4 weeks post op on June 10th. I am on my soft food stage (seafood, eggs, soft cheese only). And I am at my first stall 😫 i also only eat less than 2 ounces of food twice a day (so no more than 4 ounces a day) and I do not feel full or like I need to stop. My NUT said most people eat between 1-3 ounces at a time and feel satisfied. I am bypass by the way. I am still having my protein drinks and reaching my protein & water goal. I hope this stall breaks soon!
  3. Vitamin/pill box phone/watch for timer (pill taking & drinking) crystal light; I keep it everywhere. Mixes well with my premier protein clear & gives it a better taste my hydro flask bottles; they have the perfect sip lid (no straws allowed for me) Plastic condiment containers; I am on soft food and only allowed 1-2 ounces of food at a time and these are super handy and cheap on amazon or Walmart. Digital scale!! Measuring food is so vital. I purchased 2 (one for home, one for work). Going to order another that will fit in my purse for when I am further out and going out to eat

    Vitamins and Drinking

Take swallowing meds while you drink & chewable meds while you eat. if you need to take meds with food, I just take with a few sips of ready to drink protein shake
  5. I am a sleeve to bypass revision. When I had my sleeve I went from 260 to 220 within 6 months. I followed my program to a tee. I then developed extreme GERD. At the time I had no idea what it was but it got so bad that about 2 years ago I was burping up water and feeling gross from the GERD that I asked for a revision and got it almost a month ago. i honestly don’t know why I regained my weight back. No one knew I had the sleeve but everyone knew me as the dieter: I did Atkins, Keto, you name it. You would think I would feel full from Keto cause of the heavy protein, but nope. I felt no restriction. But I felt myself slowly losing the restriction as time went on. I had my sleeve for 7 years before revising. I have also seen where some sleevers develop GERD and the only food that seems to settle is the bad food. That didn’t happen for me but I have read it on some forums.

    5 week stall

Make sure you’re eating low carb veggies . Restaurant food may have a ton of salt, so increase you’re water intake. And like everyone se said. Eat fresher foods & cook st home

    Possible I've Lost Too Much?

Your body composition actually looks fine. But I would just set more alarms to eat more meals throughout henday if you can and drink more water if you aren’t getting enough calories and are dehydrated
  8. I was on a two week liquid diet when I had my revision to bypass, so I am sure my team thought that was more than enough. when I had my sleeve, I was told to take the magnesium citrate I believe. I have also taken the magnesium citrate for my other abdominal surgeries to make sure my bowels weren’t full so they didn’t get in the way of the surgical procedure
  9. My doc said for every ounce of MoM you take, drink 4 ounces of water before & after. But I agree with Matt...make sure you are drinking more than enough water
  10. Follow the rules/guidelines. I see so many posts on forums & social media where people try to advance themselves with food, try to go back to work early, lift things heavier than brute suppose to etc. All sorts of things that are out of their guidelines. I am on a Facebook group for WLS (connected with the insurance/hospital I am associated with) & people are eating mashed potato, yogurts, pudding & creamed soups when that stuff isn’t allowed on our program and they know but say, “oh but it went down fine.” Of course it did, it’s a slider food. People fail to realize that they just had major surgery & just because you feel “okay”, doesn’t mean you can start doing whatever it is you want. That’s kind of how we got fat in the first place. This is a time to start anew, a fresh start, so follow the guidelines.

Is there a method to this madness?

I undersrand, if the doc says hire moving well then that’s great! Keep it up and keep us updated

Is there a method to this madness?

Sounds like you are still having gas pains. Just keep moving and trying to get in your fluids. It is hard for the first week or so but you do need more fluids. Keep water with you at all times and sip it. It does get better the more you move. If you’re on meds that don’t make you drowsy, try taking it and then walking and see if you’re able to walk more or move in different ways to get the gas out. And with the jello, you kind of have to let it dissolve in your mouth and then swallow. I just avoided it all together for the first 3 weeks. Sugar free Popsicles were heaven for me though: got some variety with flavor and was able to consume more fluid

    Revision

Welcome! Hope everything pans out well for you with the revision!
  14. I had sleeve and the bypass (revision after 7 years) and I felt there was no difference in the recovery process. I felt about the same but experienced less gas pain with bypass. So neither one was easier in my opinion

    Post op walking

I was a bit of a hunchback for about 5 days after surgery. After that I was ok
  16. Awesome! Can’t wait to read about your update after surgery! Good luck & congrats
  17. Ingot the pacific bone broth. It had protein so I didn’t add any to it. It wasn’t much but protein powder doesn’t mix well with a hot liquid so I didn’t attempt. Unjury makes a chicken soup flavored protein that’s really good

    Still not complying

Yea, I would make sure you’re logging your food & look back on what you are eating and how much of it. Mid you’re really struggling, try making an appointment with your nutritionist to see where you may need to tweak a few things.

    caretaker needs help

I agree with MattyMatt...everyone’s experience is different. Of corse you’ll be doing simple things like laundry, maybe getting him things that have fallen or out of reach, helping with first shower maybe etc. Emotionally, it helped for my husband not to eat around me for the first few days but then I got use to it simply because I had no desire to eat. It will also help if you just give words of encouragement when you go on walks. That helped me a lot. For me, I also got bored beyond words. It helped that my husband took me to the parks in our area for walks or just sitting and feeding the birds. As I felt better, we went to movies etc. so just see if he is up to things of that nature when he is feeling a bit better
  20. I wouldn’t advance myself without the surgeon/teams ok. Just follow your plan and stay safe. Or call your surgeon and ask

    My day

Try different seasonings for your meat and veggies and cook them differently. Grill meat/veggies, bake them, sautée them, steam veggies etc. and try different meats/proteins. I love seafood! You could make a seafood salad, anything. Dunno if you’re allowed to use any sauces/dressing a bit try the low cal/low carbs one to change the flavor of food. You can make a a stir fry for example.
  22. Bryn910

    Staaaaallllll.

After a while our bodies adapt to what we are doing/eating. Maybe you can change up your workout routine. In addition to walking maybe try some weight training
  23. I would consider those soft foods not liquids. I would call or email your team to get clarification

    Sports Bras

I have purchased the Enell brand sports bra’s. I use to work out a lot and my boobs didn’t move an inch in these bad boys. And they felt good because of no underwire and front hook closures. I wouldn’t wear them around casually because they have a lot of fabric and it is a minimzee style bra that makes your girls look smaller. For casual wear, I wear lane bryant’s cacique
