Had VSG on 4/17 so far down 50lbs but sometimes when I eat I get heartburn or at night I feel real hungry but i know I’m not. Does anyone here take Zantac? Tums only help for a little bit.

So I’ll be 6 weeks post op next week. I’m going to New Orleans and I know I’ll want to have at least one drink. I feel like I have and Angel on my left side saying don’t do it and the Devil on the right saying one would be ok. So now long did you guys wait? -

I just wanna try one drink. If it turns out not to be so appealing than that would be amazing! Lol -This is my husband and I’s first mini vacay without the kids so I’m kinda of excited. -

Since surgery 4/17/18 I’ve lost 30lbs but now my back hurts all the time. I don’t know why! Has anyone else experienced this?

I had surgery the 17th and was out on the 19th. Pain was fine in the hospital but I soon as I got home it got so bad. I also had my hiatal hernia repaired and apparently that’s where most of the pain comes from. The nurse told me to take milk of magnesia and it helps with the poop and got rid of a lot of the gas problems. I’m still having hunger pains too! Which blows my mind but maybe once I have puréed foods it will change. -
Today is day 2 post-op. In the hospital I did fine, no air and baby sips of water. Well when I was living today they gave me a pill pain reliever. So I took it with a little water and ever since then I feel the air inside me. I’ve walked and continued to sip on water but I’m still in a lot of pain. Has this happen to any of you guys?

I’m trying my hardest to quit but letting go of food and cigarettes is so hard. YES I KNOW NEITHER ONE IS HEALTHY!!! My doc said no smoking one day prior but I’m trying to stop altogether.

Yes mine required one week too but like you I wanted to start a little early so I wouldn’t go into shock lol... -
Yes but I haven’t had surgery yet. I’m talking about now not after surgery. TRUST ME IM WELL AWARE OF ALL THE RISKS THAT COME ALONG WITH SMOKING.

I’m on welbrutrin and it cut me down tremendously so I usually smoke like 1 or 2 a day. People say that I should be able to quit and I do go days sometimes without smoking it’s just sometimes I’m having a rough day and I guess in my mind I think it makes me feel bettwr

My doc told me to start this week. I don’t think i would’ve of last 2 weeks! I’d probably be cursing everyone out all the time lol -

Yes that’s what I keep reading. It’s like this is the hardest part because I’m aware that I can still eat the food. But I’m determined to beat this food cravings and not give in. I have to keep fighting. -

Yes I completely feel the same way. I have to daughters and I have to cook for them of course all the time right. That’s kind of messing with me a little. But my oldest keeps reminding me I can’t have no food. -
