Hey way to go!!! I'm 6 weeks out as well and my doc keeps his patients on soft foods for 3 months. I have a follow-up appointment 10/31 and am hoping to be down at 45 pounds, I'm a 30 now. Good luck to you in the future

Hey everybody!!!! I have found recently that my sleeve is not happy with chicken anymore. I thought I was eating too fast or taking too big of a bite because it was kind of painful, but then my sleeve started to outright reject chicken (it was like it was pushing it out). Chicken is a great source of protein and getting all my protein is hard, any suggestions to help me out with this? I can still handle ground turkey and pretty much anything else I just don't want to get stuck with very few choices. I am 6 weeks out and down 30 pounds!!!! I am happy with my sleeve it's just the chicken thing has me concerned.

Well I will not be trying again until the end of October at 3 months LOL.....I am dying for a salad, hope if I use spinach and spring mix it won't give me slime!
-
Thanks a bunch....I've done all you have suggested and I think it's just one of those phases my sleeve is going through. I'll try it again at the end of October my 3 month mark.
-
Glad to hear so I don't feel so alone. Like I said I'll try again at 3 months post op and see how it is.
-
@Orchids&Dragons thanks, it had me a little worried. I'll try again at my 3 month mark 10/30.
-
Thank you I will have to try that, it's rough when the sleeve starts to push it back out.
-
You look amazing!!! Great job!!!

So I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow and all day today ANYTHING I eat makes me nauseous and feels like my sleeve is rejecting the food. This is new to me and I'm not sure what to do other than going back to liquids!!! I'm on soft foods for 3 months because that's what my surgeon has his patients follow. I hope this passes because I feel like crap. The 🤢🤢🤢🤢 Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Thanks guys, I feel much better today. I believe I was eating too fast. I had breakfast and all is well. Thanks for your input!!!

Hey crew!!! I am supposed to intake 73 grams of protein a day and I am failing miserably!!! I'm a little over 4 weeks out and the premier protein shakes are way too sweet now. I try to get all my water in but I get full soooooo fast. I don't know how I'm supposed to get that much protein when I can barely eat. Please tell me this will end soon.

@MargoCL thanks I'll have to look into that!!!

Well I am happy to say that I had my surgery on 07/30/18! I've had a couple of issues so far....no BM I have started taking a stool softener daily and I also have a sleeve problem...some food feels like rocks trying to pass through. I know there are some great advice givers here just wondering if there are any suggestions. Hw: 307 SW: 298.4 CW: 277

i called my Barix Clinic and they moved my follow up appointment from 09/05 to tomorrow. They immediately said I need to come in and see if the doc can help me. So hopefully tomorrow I will be much better. I never was a regular BM kinda girl so it didn't really click to me that it had been that long and when I did have the urge the other day it was damn near impossible to go. BUT I WILL PAY ATTENTION FROM NOW ON!!! Thanks for the advice @Lyngolean

Hey everybody!!!! I have a quick question: what can I do for protein other than Premier Protein Shakes!!! I am having the hardest time drinking those things now, they are horrible it's like drinking overly sweet chocolate milk. Any suggestions because it's hell trying to get one down now. Please help in Michigan lol
-
Thanks for all the suggestions!! My followup was for 09/05 but they rescheduled me for tomorrow 08/29 wish me luck! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I appreciate all the replies. I had a very terrible BM yesterday but I still feel like I didn't completely void. I have started stool softeners daily hopefully it helps. Also I don't feel bad just some food does not feel right when it hits my pouch or tries to move through. Maybe I will go back to liquid for a while and see if that helps. I did have to stay 5 days in the hospital due to swelling of my sleeve causing severe nausea.

I have been trying very hard to get it in. I have been working on that most of all because of the bowel problem
