  1. I had an endoscopy this morning. Turns out I have a erosive gastritis and a esophagitis. I take already pantropazole 2x a day since I was sleeved May 10th. I have a follow up appointment on Monday. Did anyone else had that, and if so, what was the therapy?
  2. I struggled with the water intake too. I had to get fluids through the IV a few times. My surgeon said that fluids have to come first before worrying about the protein. If you don’t feel hydrated try and get some IVs. I am 9 weeks out now and don’t have problems anymore. Good luck to you.
  3. Hello everyone, I am 8.5 weeks post op and have some pain in my right side of my upper abdomen for a few days now. Went to the doctor today and the gallbladder is bigger than it is supposed to be. He thinks it’s sludge that doesn’t get transported. He gave me a medication that is supposed to help uncramp to help get the sludge out. So far, I still have pain (even slightly worth). Did anyone else experience something like that? If yes, what did help? And I am not talking about taking the gallbladder out. ;-)

    Drinking - just wondering

The only things I eat during the day is protein. I know what to eat but I think I don’t get enough in during on meal. I am only 7.5 weeks post OP so hope it’ll get better.

    Drinking - just wondering

How do you get all your protein in? I drink 5 oz of a shake per day and the rest with eggs, cheese, beans, meat etc. i get about 45-55 g of protein in like that.
  6. Why is it so important to wait 30 minutes before and after you ate with drinking anything? Also, what about when you have a protein shake, do you have to wait to drink fluids before and after too?

One Month Post Op-Is it just me?

I struggled a lot too. I had to stay in the hospital twice to get fluids because I couldn’t get any water down. I lived on about 200 calories for the first 4 weeks. I am 7 weeks post op now and it is getting better. I meet my fluid goal of 64 oz most days. I am still not at 60g of protein but compared to two weeks ago I am at about 50-55g each day. Give yourself some time, you will get there. Remember how you felt 3 days after surgery? How do you feel now? It is confusing reading how easy it is for some people to eat and drink and how fast others loose weight. It stressed me out at some point but I trust on my sleeve and that it will all work out at the end.
  8. I didn’t have to do a diet either. I believe they have you on a diet to shrink your liver.

How are the May sleevers doing?

I was sleeved May 10th and lost 30 lbs so far. I struggle getting the protein in. Got 60g in only ones so far and about 600 calories about twice. When I try to eat more, I can’t drink enough. How do you guys manage to get in the food/protein and the fluids of 64 oz? I would love to exercise but my surgeon said that I should have a calorie intake of a minimum of 800.

    Enough??

I feel you. I hate the protein shakes and cut them down soon too. I still have one in the morning with a little bit puréed banana and some spinach leaves plus peanut butter powder. Equals 16 gram of protein. The rest of the day I eat scrambled eggs, mozzarella cheese (fresh), ricotta bake, Greek yogurt etc. I am 6 weeks out and still can eat only very little and therefore I don’t meet my 60-80 G protein goal, but my surgeon said that it will come.

    Hernia repair

I had a hiatal hernia repair. According to my surgeon it was pretty big. I had some tightness in my chest for a few days. I also felt like food stuck in my throat whenever I drank or “ate” for about 3 weeks. I am 5.5 weeks out I don’t have any problems from the hernia repair anymore.

Are you happy with your sleeve

I am almost 5 weeks out. I don’t regret it but the recovery is hard for me. It is difficult to eat and my stomach is very sensitive. I have problems getting my fluids in and had an IV to get fluids a few times. I don’t want to scare you, but you should prepare yourself for a recovery that can be not so smooth. I know that it will get better and it is better compared to a day after the surgery BUT it is not easy (at least for me).

... i am embarrassed to ask

I did the smooth move tea every evening for the last two days. It works REALLY good. But somehow my stomach is growling the entire day today. I also have diarrhea now. I guess I won't drink it tonight.
  14. Hello everyone, I am 18 days post op and am wondering when my stomach will stop making noises every time I eat or drink? It can still be uncomfortable to put anything in my stomach. When will this stop? What was your experience?
