How Soon Until Better? (Sleeved May 9th)
Minerva1113 replied to AstroCat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is so funny that you mentioned the hiccup. I have the same thing, even the “half” hiccup. 🤣 When I don’t move or drink I hardly have any pain. Walking is ok but getting up and down is still pretty painful. My gas is finally moving and starting to come out ... what a relieve!! I am on a liquid diet which means I can have even yogurt but thinned out. It has to be pouring consistency. -
How Soon Until Better? (Sleeved May 9th)

I had surgery on the 10th. I tried my Protein Shake this morning and it was disgusting!! 🤣 I work on 4 oz of a premiere shake right now which is much better. I can drink, but it still hurts and is uncomfortable. I had a hiatal hernia repair as well so that could be why it is so hard to swallow. How are you guys pain wise? -
Hi guys, I just got home from my sleeve surgery that was done yesterday. Before I took a shower I went on the scale. Surprisingly I weight 8 pounds more than yesterday morning. How can that happen??
-
8 pounds more right after surgery

But I didn’t get much today anymore. That seems crazy. I just wanted to see if I maybe lost a pound but really did not expect a gain of 8 pounds. -
I had my sleeve and hiatal repair yesterday. I am in quite some pain, especially gas which won’t come out and whenever I drink my stomach cramps. But I can’t wait to feel physically better and enjoy that journey.

I can go home now. :-) Which is really nice. I walk like crazy and got some meds for the gas but it still doesn’t come out. Well, it has to eventually, right?!

Then please let us know all the good tips.

I also have my surgery on May 10th. I am pretty busy at the moment, but in a calm moment I get afraid too. I don't have do go on a liquid diet before, but started to include some new habits already. I am counting my calories, increasing my water intake and trying to eat about 90 grams of protein. Just started two days ago, so I don't feel too bad yet. What have you planned for your post-op liquid diet? Any recommendations?
-
I will go about 6 weeks after my surgery to Europe. So far my surgeon haven’t said anything against it.

Which app are you using AshAsh1?

I read in a few post that people dink protein water during their liquid diet. Where do you buy it and how much is it? I looked at amazon and it seems crazy expensive.

April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?
Minerva1113 replied to BeckyVSG2b's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What do you use for shakes that do not have aspartame? I found one brand that doesn’t have it but it would be nice to have more options. I hate to take that stuff because it causes cancer. -
Good luck for tomorrow!! My surgery is in two weeks but I already feel nervous.

Thanks for all the responses!!

Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

How are you people who had the surgery the last view days?? I read that there are a few but didn’t see updates. I hope you are all doing good!! -
Hello everyone, I will have my sleeve surgery on April 23th. I would like to start to track what I am eating already. I downloaded a few food tracking apis but don’t really like any of them. I would like to have something that is easy and not super fancy with story about my weight loss etc. What do you guys use?
-
I will probably have surgery on April 23rd. I am so nervous. My doctor said I don’t need a liquid diet pre surgery. Apparently that’s only necessary for BMI over 45. Post surgery it will be 4 weeks until solid food.

Hello everyone, I am new here and will have my surgery at the end of April. I am looking into vitamins for right after the surgery (chewable). I can't find a multivitamin that includes iron. I found one that has B12, B1, folic acid, copper, zinc and selenium. Do you guys now of one that also has iron? Also, how did you schedule your vitamin intake? Calcium can't go with iron, but you have to take calcium 3 times a day, right? Thanks in advance!!!

Can my friends see when I joined the fb group? -
I found something I like. I will use a Bariatric Complete multivitamin (chewable) I have to take only once a day in the morning and then Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate chewy bites I take 3 times a day for lunch, snack and dinner.

Thanks for the answers. I haven't heard about the antiacids yet. I will ask my surgeon about it.
