Surgeons in INDIANAPOLIS
mnm8077 replied to dkearby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had surgery yesterday by Dr. Steven Clark. He is with Premier Bariatrics/ St. Francis and Community South. He is wonderful!! -
I am going to a clothing exchange saturday and everyone there has had either the lapband or rny and I need to bring a dish. I don't know what to bring!! I want it to be something fairly cheap, makes alot and is delicious. I thought about green bean casserole and deviled eggs, but those are common things and I am sure someone else might bring them. They will be my last resort. Anyone have any ideas?

What are you looking forward to doing?
mnm8077 replied to Lanakila's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am looking forward to... Being able to cross my legs Being able to buy clothes anywhere Being able to wear a cute belt...and having a shirt short enough to see the belt. Not being self concious whenever I go anywhere. The list can go on and on!! -
I am trying to buy things I will need after surgery. I already have a heating pad, lip moisturizer, gas x strips, and have been looking into blenders. I currently have a regular size blender, but I was thinking about getting a single serve blender, or a magic bullet, or walmart has a sunbeam brand just like the magic bullet. I don't know which one would be best to get. Any suggestions on things I will not be able to live without after surgery?:confused2:

I just got approved by UHC today, I have no comorbities, but my bmi is 45. I had to show a 5 yr. weight history. Although it did take a few weeks for them to even get my info from my dr. My dr. office faxed the info to uhc four times, finally Monday they recieved it and approved me today.

I would call Tuesday or Wednesday to make sure they recieved your info. My dr. office sent in my info May 19, a week later I called the insurance, they didn't recieve anything. So the dr. office sent it again, waited a few days and they still didn't recieve anything, my papers were faxed a couple more times and finally yesterday June 9 my papers were recieved. I could have possibly been approved by now!! Don't be afraid to call them, stay on them!! I am calling back at the end of the week so see if they know anything yet.

I had to see the psych 6 times. She said it is something they do for everyone that goes through the program. Luckily she let me set up two back to back appointments so I just had to go in 4 times and got my 6 appts. over with.

It took uhc 3 weeks to actually recieve the fax from my doctor. I called them about every few days in the past few weeks, got transferred so many times, it was very frustrating!! Finally I found out yesterday they recieved the fax, so now I am waiting for approval. I am going to call them again at the end of the week. Word of advice, everytime you call write down the day time who you talked to and number you called, I didn't do that until the last couple calls, it would have been helpful because everyone was telling me something different.

When I met him he did seem really nice. I have an appointment to meet the psychologist next week, then another time the next week. They said I would have to see the psych. 4-5 times before surgery, did you have to? I was wondering if they just say that as the max. number of times, but it is usually less. Are you from Indy? -
Hi, I am just beginning this lapband journey. My name is Tameka, I am 27, married for 10 yrs. and have a 9 yr. old son. I have an appointment with the surgeon, nutritionist, psychologist and nurse tomorrow, April 14. I hope I will get approved!! My insurance covers the surgery 80%, guess that is better than nothing!! I currently need to lose 130 lbs. I am nervous about my appointments tomorrow!! One big thing I worry about with the surgery is excess skin!! Most of my weight is in my stomach like I a pregnant!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
