I’m 7 months out from surgery and I’ve finally figured out something that works for me. I drink Metamucil every day, Miralax every day and have added 7 prunes. I’ve had a TERRIBLE time and used every method under the sun to help with the pain. Enemas, stool softeners, laxatives, laxative teas, milk of mag... nothing has worked this well. I’m finally seeing progress with all three and making sure I get over 100 oz of water a day. Good luck everyone!

Just wanted to post some encouragement for everyone starting the preop diet. I’m on day 10 and I promise it does get better. I’m still hungry but I don’t have headaches and feel crappy. My surgery is in 5 days so that is motivation to stay strong! Good luck to everyone in surgery today!

My surgery date is 8/13 and this preop diet is brutal! I am allowed to eat 4 oz protein with green veggies once a day so I shouldn’t be complaining. Can anyone share helpful tips for walking through the kitchen or cooking food for my family knowing I cat eat it!? 😂

Thanks! I finally got BCBS to respond to an email that says there is no 6 month period so I forwarded that to the business office and am waiting for the latest response. Good luck!

I’m having a horrible time with the business office of my doctors office. I live in NC but my insurance is through MA. They keep telling me I have a 6 month wait/supervised weight loss program but no one I’ve contacted at BCBS MA sees that requirement. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and if so what did you do? Thanks!
