The story of failing and getting back on track
Suesloosinit replied to temkins's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow I'm glad you wrote this, I am going thru exactly the same after 2 years! I've had to reach out to surgeons office for help but this helped too! Its the sneaking things back in that's got me so worried, I'm going to have to throw everything literally in the trash and start over. I have my list of water and nutrition written down in front of me but I choose to ignore it and now I'm finding that I need to live by it forever! I have no restriction any more so I think there's that too but they did warn me about it too. Thank you and stay safe 😃 -

Hi there, Lovin the pics of everyone loosing, isn't it a great feeling. This summer I went to UK with my son for my nieces wedding, my son brought up a pic from July of last year and I could see a "slight" difference lol Id taken photos through out the past 10 months but nothing compares to this one. Its been a long journey and my weight loss is slowing down to a crawl but still loosing! 150lb loss has blown me and my surgeon away, from a 32 to a 14 right now is so cool. I would like to get to a 12 then I can comfortably stop looking at the scale lol Hope you guys are doing ok, would love to see more pics of everyone!

Hi there, well its been 6 months exactly for me, what a ride its been! I've lost 111 lbs as of today and 38" over all lost too...I've given away a ton of clothes, buying new ones is a minefield now as the sizes are so messed up in stores and online. I hope you guys have all been doing great, I love hearing about everyone's losses (that doesn't sound right but you know what I mean) Heres to another 6 months!

HI there, I get it every few weeks, so I bought Senokot which is a natural laxative and stool softner, stupid me took the full dose of 2, forgetting that I really should only need 1. Next morning I was fine but stayed close to home lol Not having enough liquid can do it as well as not much fiber but we will get there in the end. Hope your doing ok now.

Hi there, yes mine did and still are all messed up, I read somewhere that this is what happens when taste buds haven't caught up with the rest of you when you have surgery. I can make the same things I used to make for my family and to me it is just awful =( and for them its business as usual. I also read that taste does come back later on, Im thinking it will happen with my cravings too, which I dont miss at all!

Hiya, add your scoop of protein to a little bit of cold water, mix it till it dissolves then add it to your food otherwise it will clump in warm food.

Suggestions for what to bring to the hospital
Suesloosinit replied to Georgetown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my sleeve 10/5 and I took a gown to walk around in and to go to test day after. A ton of toiletries that I didn't use. I thankfully took bottled water as I cant stand city water and couldn't drink it. My family brought the low sugar powerade but couldn't drink much of that as I found it way to sweet. I also took my phone, ipad and kindle...didnt use the kindle. You wont need much really, you wont feel like doing much of anything. -
Passed the Chic-fil-A test...it was tough
Suesloosinit replied to tmrtyty2018's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ive been thru Chick fil A for my son numerous times and sat next to my hubby with HUGE meals, its not bothering me one bit. You can have the strained chicken noodle soup from them its low carbs fat and 9g protein. Just strain it, the only issue I have with it is its high sodium. Glad you got thru to the other side when you went thru tho 😃 -
What should I have on hand when I get home after surgery?
Suesloosinit replied to April Dawn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am not alone but I have 2 males that eat everything in sight so I just bought what I needed, which was Chobani drinks as they have 15 grams of sugar per bottle (you will only need 1/2) and that.s what my dietitian said I can have per meal, and i bought 3 different bottles as I knew I wanted something different each day. Lunches I bought Progresso Light soups and made sure that it said broth in the ingredient list and strained the chunks, I also got my fav cream of chicken (in case I felt i needed some comfort) mushroom soup and pea and ham for a strong flavor, had to really mush that one up tho as its not creamy. Immersion blender helps for the "bits" in any soups. These did me for dinner too, if I felt I needed something but the last 3 days I haven't felt hungry at dinner time so I just had protein drink additive from BP store and that did my liquid too! I did get some protein soups but I found them to be way to salty so haven't tried anything more from the pack yet. I also bought some tuna packs and chunky chicken for the next stage but I have a feeling my guys have eaten that already...They will be in for a shock when I send them for a full shop next week lol Good luck with your surgery 😃 -
I had the sleeve and a surprise gallbladder issue. I cant stand broth as it is like dish water to me, I think I like strong flavors so I took one sip and threw the whole box. I get the Progresso chicken noodle/beef soups as they are flavored broth with veggies and chicken in, I strained the bits and just had the broth part...very nice compared to just an old broth box. Check out the ingredients list, it should say beef/chicken broth on and they are good to go. Im having Pea and Ham soup today, thats going to be a tad thick but I will water it down with some protein powder and a tad of water.

Hi there, wow what a weekend 😃 went in on Friday down 20lbs, went up 2lbs after surgery, and down 2 when I was let out! Had to have my gallbladder out due to stones and I certainly didnt want to go back for another hospital stay. Pain on incisions and pain in my back due to horrible hospital bed and a bit of nausea. Im so very thankfully for that as I was expecting horrendus gas pain but all I got was lots of burping! The main bit now is getting liquids in and thats all Im doing for the next few days. I get weak pretty quickly but ive had chicken soup and a coffee and not had any issues with them so thats a good thing. Im off for a small yogurt smoothie with some protien in it. Good Luck to everyone going today, I wish you all well 😃

@Lucybear22 I have never been to Derbyshire but I've heard its pretty...maybe next year when I come home =) I surprised myself with this liquid diet, I kept to my regular routine for my meals, (smoothie for breakfast, cream soup for lunch and broth soup for dinner) I miss chewing or crunching lol I have been thru the drive thru for my son a few times, cooked him meals too and did ok. I just made sure I had soups/broths and jellos that I liked on hand. These next 3 days with clear liquids are going to be the hardest I think. I cant have black coffee (I dont like it..I did try). Roll on next week and home with creamed soups, what a thing to look forward to! =) Keep reminding yourself that you will be eating regular food again one day but just not what the others are putting away. I have to remind myself that I cant put as much as someone else away and thats probably what got me to this mess in the first place but I can enjoy good food just smaller plates and good friends =) I have only just told my Sister because of the possible negativity and didnt get any. I have kept most of it to myself and a friend or 2 but thats it...I control the chat on me =) The Dr told me no pain or nausea allowed so Im going in with that thought, and hope hes right =)
