Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!
Nannett1966 replied to Itsnicoleee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good Luck. Things to do immediately after for a fast painless recovery. Get up immediately to walk. I did 1/2 a mile 1 he after ( 5 turns around the floor I was in) And every time I had to pi I walk again. This will help you eliminate gasses from traveling to your upper body and give you painful aches. Breathing thingy every hour! It’s a must! Your lungs need to recover and you want to avoid a pneumonia. Ask the nurse for a girdle/lifting belt, This will give you comfort and you will be able to sleep however you want except face down on your belly. I’m 5 days out of surgery and can totally sleep face down in my belly. I attended church and bible study in heels without a problem. Nice tight spanx full body girdle helped. Ok back to instructions. Your mouth might feel dry and yucky. Ask for a popsicle, the cold feels great in your mouth. Do not take bite off it! You cannot gulp down large qty, it will feel like a rock going down n in your belly. Remember. You have a belly that takes only 1 oz for now. Ask the nurses for those 1 oz cups. Put your water n shakes and any liquids you drink in them. You can do 1 oz every 15 min. When you get your liquid food. I noticed I could feel the food going down my throat to my stomach. Weird. Take small sips of liquid and if you get jello, chew it well and tiny pieces. I also got putting, they hadn’t added milk to it to soften it so I just took tiny qty and savored it in my mouth. Once you get home, you must have at least 30 G protein and 64 oz water. Extra benefits to doing everything right: “Protein is important to avoid Hair loss as well and water so it doesn’t dry out” Don’t get aggravated about how long you have to wait to get real food. Patience......... realize you put yourself in this situation so don’t be angry at the world. ; ) Be positive and happy that you have an awesome tool now to get a healthy body back. If you add weights and running to a routine, you will Be rewarded with a sexy healthy body! And yes we all have time to workout, working out actually gives you energy believe it or now. Once you get hooked on it you will crave it! Follow instructions, don’t CHEAT. Cheating will lead to more cheating and that’s not good. I started at 205 2 days liquid diet took me to 201.3 This afternoon will be 5 days after surgery I’m at 193 Very happy with results so far and look forward to much more weight coming off once I get back to working out. Good Luck! -
Normally no. Mine was cosmetic. Now people that loose a lot of weight and the extra skin becomes a problem yes it will. Everyone is different.

Thank you Tx neighbor! I’m excited. I didn’t have to do any diet just my liquid today. But I actually started since yesterday but not hungry at all just drinking water. I love to cook so I’m ready, I already have items in my freezer ready for my liquid diet and purée. The most important thing that will help with the hair loss , make sure to have your protein and veggies every day. Hope this help. http://drnichter.com/hair-loss-after-surgery-explained/ I’ll let you know tomorrow or Thursday how it goes. Have a Great rest of your day and God Bless. -

Hi. So did you get your insurance approval ? I’m in Houston, getting sleeved on Wed. That’s nice you both are having it done together, it will be much easier to both be on the same page. I was nervous and wondered if I was doing the right thing, but as of Sunday I’m very sure and clear that this is a good move for me. Not worried about recovery nor pain, my biggest worry was loosing hair, but after reading some articles I know what to do to avoid that and I’m Ready now. I -

April 18! Finally I got my date. -
The reason they ask these questions is to find out if there’s s problem that needs to be addressed and resolve by getting help. The reasons why your possibly overeating will cause you to fail even after surgery. Do it the right way so you have a successful weight loss n stay off.

Retired Insurance agent here. The Cost is what people without Ins Pay, each carrier has a negotiated rate with every Doctor, Hospital etc. Your Cost could be 75K but negotiated rate is like for example $10K. From there it starts with your Hospital Deductible, the after deductible is met you have co-insurance which normally is a percentage like 20% . The Co-insurance is up to certain amount like $5,0000. So based on this you take the assigned deductible you have and deduct from the 10K. Then whatever is left over you Pay only 20% of that balance until it adds up to your out of pocket max of $5,000. Until you reach your out of pocket max, everything else is 100% coverage until next year when your deductible starts over. Now this is for this standard plan, there are many other plans out there like HSA, and some where you pay your full deductible which is normally high and everything else is 100%. And still many other plans out there. It’s always best to consult with your agent and get a better understanding how your plan works. You’d be surprise how many people I met thru my years in the Ins business and they had no clue how what they had worked. There are hundreds of plans out there and a good agent will consult with you and look into your health history and families health history to figure out what plan is best and if it would be wise to add a supplemental policy to help with out of pocket expenses.

Does it get dry as well? -
Oh! And tell them to make sure they place your belly button right in the middle. Sometimes they are off a bit.

I had a tummy tuck in 2010. I’ve had many major surgeries due to health issues si I was not afraid. I have to warn you, when I took off bandages I freaked out for a bitand cried. I looked like Frankenstein. My cut was huge almost all the way around. I also had lipo so I was purple everywhere. Recovery wasn’t bad, I was back doing step class “ low impact” with a tight girdle in s month. There are things they don’t tell after surgery so here are some suggestions. Get a long pair of cooking thongs, and wet wipes. You cannot reach sideways or under to wipe. The first time I had to pee it was painful to reach and wipe so I thought omg! What if I poop? So I headed to the kitchen to get my thongs and then it was a good thing I always kept face wipes so I used them until I got regular wipes. Oh! Things are pulled up so your pubic hair line will be a bit higher and bend over when you pee or you will see pee shooting out and have pee running down the toilet bowl . I don’t sugar coats thing I will say things as they are. Important to drink lots of water and moisturize your skin daily before surgery, that will create good elasticity. And kept that up after as well. Cost was $12K Hope this helps.
