  1. Happy 51st Birthday leepizz!

  2. Jackie is the best for fills....if you are feeling restriction than I would put in .5-1.0 cc. you want to hit your sweet spot and not be over filled and get sick. Believe me it is not fun. Especially when you can't even hold water down. You are doing a super job and keep it up!

  3. Hey, yea i have 3cc's so far and I have the Realizeband, i forgot how many cc's mine holds though! Jackie is doing my fill on monday. I feel restriction but I also regulate myself. I can't eat as much as I used to, I'm just scared of having too much and getting sick and stuff. Good to hear shes doing well so far. I will contact her sometime next week after her classes and stuff gets started! :)

  4. Your the best! You will be fine next week with your fill. How much do you already have in your band and how big is your band? Do you feel any restriction yet? What band do you have? I have the AP LAP-BAND? and it is a 10CC band right now I have 4cc in me. Lauren has a 14cc band and now has 5.5cc in her after today. So far she is doing well with the fill. keep your fingers cross that tomorrow when she start muchies it still will be fine. Who is doing your fill?

  5. Yea, what a small world! i won't mention to her but I will make an effort to ask how shes doing and see if she can get motivated again. I can only imagine how hard it is for her at school, I know I would need a alot of help if I were there still. I will try my best! I'm going for another fill next week and I'm scared of getting too much because I wouldnt want an unfill. I've only had one fill so far though so I guess i'll see what they say. Talk to you soon!

  6. I am glad that you connected with Lauren. She needs some one like you motivated/young to help her. She is not having great success with this especially her first year in college-Making wrong food choices. She had to get unfilled on xmas eve and spent that night in the ER after too much fill the day before. Being in the ER we found out that her port is on its side and that is why they have a hard time with fills. She is going again tomorrow for another fill. She is trying to be good with her choices but who knows what is going to happen when she is back in school this Sat.You're doing such a great job on your new journey and look fantastic. Please try to be her mentor and help her get her journey started again. Maybe you can check up on her while she is away. She hates going on the scale and will only go on it at the dr. office. Maybe you can get her to go on the scale once a week. Also, please don't tell her I am asking you to help her. Thanks Amanda for being a friend to Lauren!

    Total unfil yesterday

I had a slight unfill of .5cc on 12/23 due to acid reflux nightly. On 1/2, I ended up in the ER due to the same problem and I couldn't even drink water and was getting dehydrated. They did a barium swallow and I was swollen but the band was fine. I was upset about the unfill. I just got 3cc put back in on 1/13. I am not at the level where I was before which was 5cc. During the 2 weeks with the unfill I felt better but I did put on 4 lbs since the ER visit! UGH!!!. I am hopefully getting back on track. I worked to hard for the weight to creep back on.
  8. Hi I haven't been on this site for a while since school started. I am glad you are able to have your surgery before all the holiday rush! My daughter name is Lauren Pizzolla she is at SUNY Cortland as a freshman. She is very happy there. She will be home on 10/15 and has a dr. appt. on 10/16. I hope she has lost weight! Please extend your support to her and she will hopefully do the same. Thanks. I am also here for you if you need me!

  9. Hi! do you remember me from the office? I came across your page looking for other people in westchester. You were there with your daughter! Hows everything going? I couldnt remember the last name to friend her on facebook when I got home. Im still waiting but am scheduled for oct 26th.

  10. I have been banded for 11 months. My last fill was in Sep. I felt all the symptoms of being tight. I didn't know better. I thought that PBing was normal once in a while. In Jan. I had .5 cc taken out of my 5.25cc that were in my 10cc band. I felt so much better. This past week I have been so tight that last Friday I was going to go to the emergency room since all day I couldn't hold anything down even liquid. After 2 days of liquids and soft foods I felt better. Well this week I didn't get a full night sleep. As soon as I went into a deep sleep I had to throw up or was coughing for over 1 hour. I was not able to drink the amount of liquids that I should be taking in on a daily basis. I was miserable. Well after having lunch today I really felt like I had enough....chicken and mashed potatoes, that didn't even stay down. I call my dr. since I didn't want to have another night of no sleeping. He had me come right in to the office. I was telling him all the problems I was having this past week and he took out all of my fill and I had to have a chest x-ray done to make sure I didn't slip. I felt so much better immediately. I am now not allow to get a re-fill for another month. I am so scared after being restricted for 10 months and not feeling hungry. I worked so hard to lose this 75 lbs. I don't want to gain it back:scared2:Sorry to vent, and thanks for any advise!

    Anyone hypothyroid with the LB?

I have had hypothyroid for the past 20 plus yrs. The April before my surgery (6/3/08)I found out that I need to go on a higher dose of synthyroid 1.75. Of course I was waiting for my PCD to tell me not the dr. who my surgeon sent me to for clearance. I followed up after my surgery with my PCD and he up my dose and it has been fine. I lost 70 from the day of my surgery I have more energy and have been walking/jogging 1 1/2 miles a day. I am so glad I have this wondeful tool. I have to say I love my band!!!!!
  13. i was concern about this also. I am a stomach sleeper. Since being banded in June 08 I have been on my stomach sleeping with no problem. I don't feel the port at all. I can't remember when I was able to go on my stomach after surgery but I am sure it was within a few weeks.
  14. thanks....you will be there soon! keep up with you new journey it is worth it!
