I go for my first fill tomorrow was told it my last for 1 to 2 days, and not expect any restriction. they have set my next fill for 2 weeks after that. I was told to not expect much until the 4th or 5th fill. My Dad is 3 months ahead of me and just had the first fill that really made him feel like he had one. I am hoping that is dose not take me that long. I am 6 weeks out from the banding and I still do not feel full sometimes.

OK!!! I got my call, I have all my labs finished tomorrow, an appointment on Tuesday and Wednesday, SURGERY Friday the 12th. I am so excited. I started a 800 cal. a day diet to shrink my liver on the 4th.

I am so blind with out my glasses. Picked up a can of "hair spray" sprayed away with my eyes closed. Opened them up and to my amazement I had sprayed my ex-husband athlete foot spray all over my hair.

Your PC works for you , you or your insurance pays the paycheck. I would be out of that office so fast they would not know what hit them. I have had that problem before myself. My philosophy is that a doctorate does not = a "GOD". Ask around at your support groups someone should be able to give you a name of a doctor that will help you.

How wonderful!!! I hope everything keeps going well for you. I the gas gets to bad, just get up and walk. My Dad mowed the lawn on the riding lawn-mower 3 days after his lap-band and got rid of the gas that way.

My first pre-op appointment is 6-2-2008. My Dad had the lap-band about 7 weeks ago and has already lost over 50 pounds. Even though I have someone that has already had the surgery it is nice to see what others say. I am so glad you asked this question and the list of book will be wonderful to have.

Well, I have been researching for Doctors in Arkansas that will do fills if you go to Mexico. Of course I live in one of the few states that Fill Centers does not have any. My Dad checked with his band doctor today. BTW his band was the 4th of April and he has lost 26 pounds... Well his doctor told him under no circumstance would he do fills on some one who did not have the band with him. He also went on to say NO ONE in Arkansas will. I am guess he means with out a referral from another doctor in the US. Because the way he says it, on one who ever has or ever will have the band done can ever move away from the doctor who did it. What crap!!!. So unless can find a doctor who will do the fill I am out of luck. Unless I wish to come up with $16K for a doctor here to do it.

Unfortunately my united health care does not cover anything for baritatrics. I think is just what your employer contracts for.

Thank you so much. I have already printed out your Research form. I am researcher for a dental insurance company,but a medical is a whole different language. I just did not know where to start. I have been reading your post and I love the way you are to the point. You have given me a lot to think about and your honesty is a great help. Your information is so very helpful. Thanks so much for your reply. My Dad was Banded on April 4th,(here in Little Rock AR) the next morning he was out feeding the dogs. He trains dog in his now 2nd career, after retiring from his first. He is feeling wonderful and is not starving. I defiantly want to do the lap band, but finance will just not allow for a US surgery. My only concern is the trip back home and the fills.

I have been reading your postings. I am just now make the very first steps in researching for a provider in Mexico. Ms. WASa yours have been very inlighting and most entertain. Thank you so much for the time you put in to this. I am wondering though, is there any patient coordinators that any of you out there might know and feel is safe and trust worthy? This can be a very scary thing. I would rather stay as close to my home state (Arkansas) as possible. I just do not know where to start the search. I would like to get a list of doctors, but I do not know which list to trust. I would like to be able to trust a patient coordinator, but I have read good and bad. tovah1970
