Not Your Typical Pre Op Diet Post
Sleeved36 replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My husband has been supportive through this process. He just loves me for me, doesn't care about a few extra pounds, just doesn't want to be married to a hangry b***h. He doesn't understand bc he is naturally lean and buff. He eats a ton of bad food, works out a little, and still looks like a fitness model. I hate him a little for it. My body has changed a lot over the years. He wears the same size pants as when we married. A little more ear hair tho 😉 -
Not Your Typical Pre Op Diet Post
Sleeved36 replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was definately grumpy about not being able to eat post-op, but that was head hunger and grieving for food. My program allowed scrambled eggs and yogurt/cottage cheese on the liquid diet. After I tried scrambled eggs I felt immediately full and it was tough to digest them. This helped me to see that I really needed just liquids for a while and that it was head hunger bc my body wasn't ready for anything else. It was probably better for my family that I wasn't a grumpy, hangry b***h for 2 weeks before surgery. Just for a little bit after. 😉 I did a low-carb diet once a few years ago (Way pre-op). One day when I got home from work my husband had made mac and cheese and poured a glass of wine. He told me to eat it bc he would rather me be round than bitchy. -
Not Your Typical Pre Op Diet Post
Sleeved36 replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My pre-op diet was just a healthy eating plan. It was meant to mimic long term eating post-op. Protien first, then veggies and fruit, carbs last if you have room. Nutritionist visits to educate on healthy eating and post-op phases. No weight loss mandates for me, just couldn't gain. Some loss is preferred. No liquid diet pre-op except for 1 day of clear liquids the day before. My program is very critical of programs that require 2 weeks liquid diet bc it does not teach healthy eating, just starvation dieting. And I totally agree. If I could starve myself thin, I would have done it already. -
Where is my Normal?
Sleeved36 replied to Becomingthickandfit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry you are going through this. It will get better as you heal and the inflammation in your stomach goes down. No guarantee how long it will take. Thats the really rough part, not knowing when it will end. It will end. You can do It! One day at a time . . . -
Not a kilo lost through Gastric Sleeve :(
Sleeved36 replied to Saddy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dumping syndrome will not change a food/sweets addiction anymore than a hangover prevents alcoholism. The problem is mental, but can be overcome with help. Do the surgery if you want to, but combine it with therapy or another form of support. It will help to ensure your success. -
How are you treated by your mate!!!
Sleeved36 replied to holly7744's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So sorry. Try to get him to express what he is feeling. He could just be scared of change or insecure. Or worried you will make him change too. Or worried you will stop cooking. Could be all kinds of things. Good luck! -
Don't stress too much. Make sure you get in your water. Keep trying different things until you find something that works. It gets easier, I promise.

OMG My Home Scale is a Liar!
Sleeved36 replied to Love2Travel816's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have the Taylor 7506 chrome and glass digital scale. I did some research and it was the best reviewed cheap scale by professionals and people online. Get it lots of places, all under $20. It lines up with my doctor's scale. That, a $2 tape measure and you should be all set. -
Feeling Awkward & Embarrassed About Visible Weight Loss
Sleeved36 replied to bluehat's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It is weird at first and I am sure that it will continue to be weird when school starts in the fall and you look REALLY different. Everyone will have a lot to say again. It it bad to hope that someone in your circle has a scandalous divorce? Hopefully they will all move on soon so that your surgery can turn into old news. 😉 -
Perspectives on Losing Fast & Slow
Sleeved36 replied to GreenTealael's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I totally get the pretending to be positive thing, some days just suck. A stall makes me think why bother with all this work if I am just going to stay fat? I know 6 months from now I will be smaller, but it is an emotional roller coaster at times. I have set a lot of mini goals on the way down. It has helped me be better with every little pound lost. HW/SW: 268 sleeved 5/9 Goal 1: under 250, that officially puts me under the weight limit for lots of stuff I use anyway; ladder, dining room chairs, lawn chairs, kayak. Goal 2: lose the equlivilant of my almost 2yr old (30lbs) Goal 3: lose equlivilant of my 4yr old (40lbs) Goal 4: ONEDERLAND! You get the idea, don't want to make this the longest post ever. Current weight: 246 and in a stall 😣 -
The start to a new beginning

Good luck! Keep coming here for questions and support! -
Beets can color both your urine and stool. Urine usually pink. Stool usually maroon, definitely looks like blood in the toilet. Freaky at first, but it's fine.

What is everyone's favorite chili recipe? I like Chili, all different kinds. Looking for a little variety. No heartburn here, but I am a bit of a wuss with really spicy things.

Creek: what's a small can of chicken broth? Most are 15 oz. Do they come smaller?

Wish you the best! Thanks for the update. Good luck with your next appointment. Once you hear the heartbeat, the chance of miscarriage greatly decreases. 🤗

I LOVE thai food and can make lots of things "healthy". Can't seem to find a good recipe for peanut sauce. Any ideas? Maybe something with PB2?

Way to go Emmy! I just started on this journey and get frustrated at times. Your post is a good reminder that this journey is a LONG story with a happy ending. Thanks for posting!

I hear what you are saying, but . . . A lot of postings have also been about psych evals being rough. Maybe a little mandatory therapy couldn't hurt or mandatory support groups. I definitely feel grumpy when I can't eat something I want, it can even make me moody sometimes. I understand that my sleeve is a tool and those kind of emotions are something I need to work through.

Hey May sleevers! You hit the stall yet?
Sleeved36 replied to moondoggie1983's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery 5/9 and I have lost 22 pounds and total 16 inches. Not sure what to call a "stall", but my losses are all in little jumps. The scale won't move for a few days, then I will be down 3 pounds. Then same for a little while again. The logical part of my brain recognizes the steady downward trend, but the emotional part of my brain goes a little crazy. I start thinking things like this: I am working hard and want to see results dang it! Am I going to be one of those people who doesn't lose? Or worse regains it all? -
Wow! It sounds like you got out just in time! Good for you. Keep going, there will be a happy life for you on the other side of this! 👍

I looked at your profile, if it is up to date, you are almost at goal. You should have no problem making it through pregnancy and losing that little bit of weight after. Look how far you have come! As for miscarriage, that is an entirely different kind of pain. I have been there and still wonder what kind of person that baby would have been. Wanted to have a baby and had an angel instead. . . . If you are pregnant make sure you have a good medical team that can support your unique situation. Then just enjoy the new little life inside you 🤗 Will be thinking about you! Keep us posted 💖

Victory? Kinda . . . . My swimsuit is too big. Didn't realize it until my tankini top was floating up around my armpits. Was able to adjust ok, will just have to be VERY careful for the rest of this trip. Also, jogged a good distance on the beach with out feeling like I wanted to die.

Way to go! So glad all of your hard work is paying off!

Glad it all worked out for you. Welcome to the losers bench!

Started weight lifting and I'm now starving every 2/2.5 hours
Sleeved36 replied to whitmac's topic in Fitness & Exercise
That's my favorite! Whey protien with almond milk! Tastes great. Unsweetened almond milk has 30 cals per 8oz (less than skim milk). Still has calcium and other good stuff. Sometimes I buy 1/2 almond milk and 1/2 coconut milk, mix it with chocolate protien powder, and you have an almond joy shake!
