Anyone try laser skin tightening? I don't think I will need plastic surgery. My skin scars a lot, probably not worth it. I have lost 50 pounds with another 40ish to go. If I start now with some laser treatments maybe I will be less of a mess when I reach my goal? There are a few different kinds of laser treatments. Any suggestions?

How can I jump start my weight loss again?
Sleeved36 replied to Krizivester's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry! That's not cool. I'm not sure that there is a definition of a "stall". To me it is anytime I am doing all the right things and the scale is going nowhere. I think I define "stall" as more of an emotional state than a physical one. I am probably wrong and will be corrected shortly. 😉 -

18 months and hit my Goal! It was a journey
Sleeved36 replied to Coachthex32's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So happy for you! And glad that you feel healthy and strong 😁 -
LOL! 🤣 Only diet preachers in my life are on bariatric pal! At first I thought your post was sarcastic and directed at people here. I love coming here to read and learn the different diets that work for everyone, great place to get lots of food ideas. BUT, some people can get a little intense about their way being the only way.

So happy for you! You have worked hard and deserve all the NSV that come your way! -
What is your most embarrassing NSV?
Sleeved36 replied to Sleeved Nurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Not embarrassing, but definitely an unpleasant NSV. As I have lost weight it has revealed that I have varicose veins in my legs. So my pasty white legs are smaller now, but . . . . . .😫 Guess they have been there for a while, but encased in fat 🙁 -
Yay! My Surgery is This Morning!

Glad you are doing well! Remember that the first little bit postop is the hardest, then you start melting away and it is all worth it! -
Tea, a personal favorite. I also have a water infuser pitcher I keep in the fridge and flavor my water with whatever sounds good/whatever I have on hand. If you look around you can get one cheap.

Educate me about BMR post-op
Sleeved36 replied to kordie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about those fancy scales that use impedance to calculate body mass and BMR. Not the home ones. I used 1 at the hospital. How accurate are those postop? -
Overheard Staff Joking About My Body
Sleeved36 replied to virginiaRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are a brave woman and have been through a lot! Do not let them shame you! You don't need to scream and rage, just send an email to the office manager/customer service. They need a reminder that all people deserve to be treated with respect. Do it for you and do it for the next person they decide to mock/belittle. We protect each other from bullies when we stand up for ourselves. -
Migraines and Treatment After the Sleeve
Sleeved36 replied to Aileen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I get migraines too! My doctor cleared me for ibuprofen at my 1 month appointment and for imitrex 3 DAYS postop (hormone shift postop caused a migraine) You should be good to go, but always ask your surgeon first. -
So sorry! Hope you feel better soon! It will all be worth it in the end.

Went shopping yesterday: I officially DO NOT wear plus sizes anymore! A whole world of possibilities has opened up! It is exciting and overwhelming. BYE Torrid, Lane Bryant, and the scary back corner of Macy's!

As of this week, I am obese! No longer morbidly obese. I have lost the equivalent of my 5year old. (Lost the equivalent of my 2year old a while ago). Can sometimes shop in regular sizes. Not all the time yet, but only 3 months postop. Next goal: weigh what is on my driver's license, then onederland!

Yes!! That is also part of why I am so over protien shakes! Thank you for taking the time to write such a long and thoughtful response, gave me lots of ideas 🤗 I think my kiddo will really like helping me cook with wonton wrappers!

Will you share what a typical daily menu looks like? Or at least a handful of your go to meals/snacks. 1,000 calories is about where I try to be as well. I am 3 months post-op, doing well, but struggling with building my new routine. Also struggling packing my lunch for work. I am trying to reduce protien shakes bc they aren't filling. I can see how they could become extra calories in the long run. Mine are only 130 calories, but that still adds up. Don't anyone jump on me, I understand that protien shakes are a valuable tool to add both fluid and protein. But at this stage they need to be a tool, not what I rely on. Every body is different.

Amazing! You look great! What was your favorite/biggest non-sleeve victory so far?

Thank you for posting this. It explains a lot of what has happened to me. I was a functional alcoholic for a few years in my 20s, then a regular drinker after that. Still had extra cravings for alcohol, but I could control it just fine. I was concerned that I might develop a problem with alcohol post op bc it seems to happen for some people. Instead, I want alcohol even less. What a relief! We have enough to go through postop!

Wedding ring resizing

I am just excited I can finally wear mine again! It was too small for the last year. I have a while b4 it is loose, but it sounds like a nice problem to have. 😊 -
Should weight matter in a relationship?
Sleeved36 replied to Numbheart's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Typically overweight people and healthy people have different lifestyles. This can lead to incompatibility on lots of levels. It is also hard to watch someone you care about be sick and unhealthy, over time this can wear at a relationship too. -
So I have started jogging again. I used to, but it has been a long time and 50 pounds or so ago. I noticed that I can feel my "back fat" jiggle. The real question is whether it is truly back fat or loose skin. Feels weird either way. Should I double up my sports bra and wear 1 backwards? 🤔 Really hoping the skin tightens. . . . .or I lose more back fat. Anyone else have strangeness with new workouts? Or good workout modifications?
-
That's me from behind preop. (Gray shirt, not firehat 😉). I am pretty sure it is loose skin jiggle and am really hoping it will get better. Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely get some compression tank tops. Jiggling back fat/skin is kinda funny 😜, but I was surprised at how uncomfortable it was too.

How often do you weigh yourself?
Sleeved36 replied to Tracy1978's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I weighed daily until I hit a stall. Then I was frustrated and stayed off the scale for 2 weeks. I lost 10lbs in that time! Now I weigh weekly or less.
