Surgery Tomorrow, Feeling Anxious About Weird Things

Absolutely none! I’m a week out and feeling great!!! (Minus being allergic to the dermabond and breaking out in an itchy rash over my belly [emoji24]) -
I feel super dehydrated and dry if I get less than 80oz. The first 2 days I felt like so dry, but by day 3 I was back up to 80 and now 1 week out I’m at around 100oz. So strange how different everyone is!

So my recovery has kind of been a dream. I am exactly 1 week out, and consuming over 100oz of fluids, and 80-90g of protein. Feeling great, pain is pretty much gone. So all in all, I really can't complain. EXCEPT I am apparently allergic to dermabond and my entire belly has broken out into an itchy-as-fu** rash! I am going CRAZY! Thankfully my surgeon said I could hope into a hot shower and peel off the rest of the dermabond but it will probably take a week or two for the rash to go away. I know its not really a complication... but guys I literally have 0 willpower when it comes to not-itching. I'm one of those people that every mosquito bite WILL become a cut because I itch and itch and itch! SO ITCHY!!!!! On another note I was super excited to go to "soft" foods... but a lot of negative reactions from other members freaked me out and I chickened out. However I have been making my own shakes instead of doing the RTD ones. SO much better. Those of you struggling through the liquid phase, try making your own. I made a delicious red velvet flavored one that has 37g of protein that is delicious!

My rash exploded overnight and expands my entire tummy and sides [emoji24]. Sooo itchy! Taking Benadryl and using cortisone cream.

Hi guys! How long Post surgery until you guys were able to ride a bike? I’m only a week out, but kind of hoping I can get on a bike within the next few weeks?

Tried. Helps a little. I am also using a topical cream.

It’s normal. There a lots of threads on here about stalls. Honestly your weight loss has been GREAT so far! Search 3 week stall in the search feature and you’ll see at least 50 topics on it The body needs a reset period. I’ve heard others mention that while the numbers stay the same, often times their inches are changing!

Not eating soft foods yet! Exhausted and can’t get all protein in
Kay07 replied to amartinez8853's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Agreed, not trolling. My plan is Clear Liquids for 24, full liquid ( including Greek yogurt, jello) for 10 days, then soft food “chewed to the consistency of applesauce” for 2-3 weeks following that. I was approved by my nut to start adding in soft foods slowly, such as scrambled eggs or oatmeal at this weekend (surg was Monday) because I have 0 difficulty getting fluids and Protein. The day after my surgery I had 70oz Fluid and 55g protein, and the second even more. I am averaging 60-80g of protein per day, and 80-90oz of Water. I tried cream of wheat this am, and was able to handle it just fine, just took longer to eat it. Every practice is different. Doesn’t mean we are trolling or sabotaging ourselves. -
I want your tub.....

I can’t get over the transformation! Your stats are similar to mine and it gives me great motivation -
Eep! Minedidn’t bleed at all, but I have dermabond on them. Is it after you shower that they bleed? Are they traditionally sutured?

Sooooooo my nut just told me to try soft things, like scrambled eggs.... I kind of feel like Christmas came early but also am afraid it’s much too soon!
-
I’m not hungry at all, and I sip so much water I almost constantly feel “full” however I force myself to eat at routine times to make sure I can hit my 60g protein goal.

Sleeved May 16th

Totally normal! I have the same pain in my incision, though it’s dulled quite a bit. -
Good morning ladies and gents! It is hard to believe I am on my second day post op! I am thrilled to say that I am doing well. No complications have cropped up yet. In fact if the wounds on my belly didn't hurt a tad, I would swear I didn't even have the surgery! I have had no trouble getting fluids or protein down. In fact its 6:46am and I've already logged 20oz of fluid and 10g of protein today. In fact, I was a bit concerned, like many others, who could consume more than they thought. Yesterday, my first "meal" consisted of 1 cup of chicken broth that I was able to consume in its entirety of 45 minutes, and I truly felt it was my own obsessive pacing that allowed it to stretch for that long. I then followed that up with 8oz of water about 30 mins later over the course of an hour. I did notice more restriction when I had lunch and started sampling different protein shakes, greet yogurt and pudding. However I still felt like I was able to eat more than I should have been able to. I mean don't get me wrong, I am NOT complaining at all. Being able to consume that much has made it easier for me. I've had more energy to walk, and don't feel exhausted. I attribute to the reduced pain to this as well. The tummy gurgling though... its wicked funny. My stomach was always silent. Now it chatting all day! I hope my fellow May 14ers are having as easy of a time!

I have a few different homemade soups, I honestly think its more along the line of wanting to chew something. Not even sure about that because I have no hunger and no motivation to eat. So weird!
-
I also have the issue of non-hunger. I’ve no motivation to eat so when I do it’s all blah.
-
Ugh I want soft foods now! Lol
-
Ugh im so sorry you are struggling! The gas pain was horrendous. Honestly not taking the dilauded (morphine button) helped me. It make me so sluggish that the gas pain felt overwhelming the first day. I SELDOM pushed it unless I knew I could fall asleep. I just used the toradol they gave me and was able to get around so much easier.
-
I am in the same boat. My surgeon says that it’s not an issue at all. I consumed an entire cup of soup broth in about 35 mins and panicked a bit. I was also able to eat an entire jello-cup in 30. So I decided to manually force pace myself just in case. I stretch it out to 1 hour or just serve myself 2-3oz.

How much weight did you gain in the hospital?
Kay07 replied to starbuckslas's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I gained 12. I’m down 4 of those now, but still a ways to go.
